I was shooting about 35 feet from target. Will move on to greater distance next weekend.

Have been told that one needs to shoot around a thousand rounds before getting comfy with the Glock 26 and getting accurate. That's a lot of money...but perhaps money well-spent in Obamaworld.

I purchased a G26 Gen 3 on December 1st, just before all the craziness.

May I humbly suggest you try the Pearce +1 baseplate extensions. It gives you a full grip, yet the heel of the grip isn't any longer so it still conceals easily. Your mags will also hold 11 rounds, giving you 11+1 for carry.

Best of all, they're only around $8 each, shipping included, from a few different eBay sellers.

I am amazed at how well the gun points, and how accurately I shoot it. I'm a wheel gun, with a Dan Wesson 715, a Smith & Wesson Model 19 4" barrel, and a Smith & Wesson Model 60 J-frame snubbie with 2" barrel. In defensive point shooting, the Glock outshoots them all.

Can you get longer, extended mag so 1-2 more fingers can grip it?

Many years ago, I started my quest for the perfect CCW handgun. Went thru a lot of them before I settled on the G26 for my primary carry. Just a little bigger than true pocket carry, but has a 10+1 capacity. BTW, I don't use them, but Pierce and many others offer a little extender to the mag that allows one more finger on the grip. Her are my 3 favorite small guns.

I believe that someone makes a magazine extender that will extend the grip somewhat.

One the minor things I do not like about the Glock is the tiny mag release. So I bought an extended mag release. It only protrudes another 1/16” or so but it makes a lot of difference. Takes about 2 minutes to install.

Anyone who has a G27 (.40 sw) can get a 9mm conversion barrel and G27 mags and shoot 9mm at the range for a little
cheaper shooting.

Good post. I'm in the market for a 26 myself. waiting for the craziness to settle down. Am afraid they might be a bit overpriced now. Did you experience that?

I currently have a Ruger LCP 380, which I very much like. Am wondering if the 26 packs a little more punch.

I like my Kimber Super Custom Carry 1911. It works just fine although the capacity is limited, I carry a couple of extra mags.

Are you using a thumb high or thumb down grip on the weapon? This affects your ability to recover from recoil.

I love my G19. Got about 600 rounds through it from various manufactures. No issues with accuracy (other than my own), always feeds, fires, extracts.

I have a few “pocket” pieces and have found for me that just using the left hand to cup the right hand seems to work best for consistency and comfort. I don’t worry about nose jump as the cupped hand serves to allow everything to settle back on target and it all happens fast so about the time you are ready to squeeze off the next round, your hands/eyes have made the adjustments. I can empty mine into a grapefruit size circle at 25’ in 2-1/2 to 3 seconds which is plenty of accuracy for something designed for close up defense. For real accuracy, my 1911’s adjustable sights work great and my .357 stainless Ruger with 6” barrel is the bomb. Also have an old Ruger Mark III .22 equipped with a gas ramp and it served Dad and me well during competition shoots. Don’t have any Glocks, but from shooting with friends, they don’t seem to make a poor weapon.

Get some Talon rubber grips and apply them. They are fantastic, especially for pre-4th gen.

I no longer have it, but I used to be able to shoot my Glock 27 Gen 3 out to 25 yards as well as my full size Glock 21 Gen 3 (both with 3-dot night-sights).
