President Obama is praising the new Pentagon plan to lift restrictions on women in combat. "Today, by moving to open more military positions -- including ground combat units -- to women, our armed forces have taken another historic step toward harnessing the talents and skills of all our citizens," Obama said in a statement Thursday. Backwards is right. The feminist movement did a great job of giving women MORE work.
Here exactly lies the problem, if everyone is called out to fight overseas, who’s left to defend the country? However, at the same time, I do sometimes feel that if someone wants to go out into a foreign land, and get shot at, fine, go out and do it. I would argue people who want to go to fight overseas should watch Band of Brothers or Saving Private Ryan first, because it’s a bloody business, and yes, people you don’t want to die get dismembered or blasted to bits.
Call me sexist, but as gruesome as it would be having blood and body parts of guys on me, it would be even more gruesome having dismembered women in the field. Contrary to movies, it would be like Full Metal Jacket, people aren’t going to spare women, even if they’re American, because they are shooting at them.
