So Randy why is it that someone who is the best singer on a talent show ever doesn’t win this contest ???
Or alternatively.

let’s just declare them the winner now....

We’re just one result away from an all-girl top 5, which is what many of us were hoping for, as weak as the guys were and are. I personally would be okay with any of the girls winning the competition; all are very marketable. If Laz is finally put out of his misery tonight, the remainder of the season should be nothing but awesomeness by five talented young women.
I still would put Kree vs. Candice as the finale, with Angie a close third, Janelle a close fourth, and Amber a close fifth. I’ve enjoyed Janelle more and more the past four weeks, as I think she’s really found her zone, and Amber has survived being overshadowed by the other girls and has shown much promise (although her second song last night had some rough spots) and has great legs, as does Angie. :-)

That about sums it up. I never heard such ridiculous drivel, especially from Randy, as I did last night. Candace the best act in 12 years? Does Randy have Alzheimer’s? What about Kelly Clarkson, Chris Daughtry, Jennifer Hudson, Carrie Underwood,...even Fantasia,for goodness sake!
I am so over this show.

Last night on American Idol 2013 the Top 6 sang two songs each and the judges were in love with Amber Holcomb and really let Lazaro Arbos have it.
What’s really interesting about that is, it’s probably going to have opposite effects on the voting results tonight. I’m not saying Amber will go home, but I think she’ll be in the bottom two and it won’t be beside Lazaro.
Like every week, it’s time to make my predictions on how the votes could play out tonight. As always, these are NOT my opinions. They’re just possible ways the results could play out based on how America might have voted.

100 Percent Safe: Candice Glover, Kree Harrison, Angie Miller
Most Likely Safe: Lazaro Arbos

I just don’t see it being Lazaro this week even though that’s what everyone producing the show wants. What will be really crazy is if they have a bottom three and Lazaro isn’t in it. That means Kree, Angie or Candice would be there. They’ll probably only have a bottom two, though.
Do you think I’m wrong and that Lazaro will be heading home tonight? Or will it be Amber or Janelle?

Great intro!! I tuned in last night and could feel Simon Cowell turning over in his... T-shirt! He always tried to get the singers to sound contemporary. Freaking Burt Bacharach week? His songs were old and cheesy in the 1970s!!
Angie: I love hearing what they’re saying because what they’re saying is true.
I realize I’m pretty phony and all about appearance but look at my eyes! Aren’t they gorgeous? Who cares if I don’t feel the song?

Candace did kill it. She is my favorite. She is a genius of breath and power and vocal cords. She doesn’t lay it on too thick or resort to diva screams. She is the real deal. And I didn’t know til last night that English wasn’t her first language. Wow.

First, you should not be freezing while driving. ;)
Second, since the election I don’t freep as much. There is too great a dichotomy between freepers, who get it, and the rest of the world, who voted for Obama. I along with rush Limbaugh am more depressed about the state of this country than I’ve ever been and I am less inclined to think I can change anything. I’m quite low about it. So I will go on FR and just peruse the headlines and maybe pop into a thread that interests me, once a day or so. A lot less than before.
I’m more focusing on my kids and non political stuff lately.
I do love The Voice and I wish we had a thread on it. There is still snark to be had, but the judges especially the Best Looking Nice Jewish Boy ever, Adam Levine, and the hilarious country boy Blake Shelton, are really entertaining. And Carson Daly’s head is shaped like a banned lightbulb.
