Curtis Finch Jr
The theme for this week is actually Songs of American Idols, meaning they can choose any song peformed or recorded by an Idol winner.
Curtis chooses Fantasia's victory song from 2004. Meh. Some off key notes. But his last screaming note is pretty good.
Crowd cheers.
Keith: You always pick the right song. Easy to sing above the song (which he did)
Minaj: (empty chair--Seacrest tells us that she's "stuck in traffic".)
Randy: You definitely know who you are. I would caution you to try something a little bit different. Feel like I'm not seeing anything new.
Mariah: I was happy you had the choir feeling tonight. I want to hear more of that Gospel tinged (voice) Please keep doing what you do.
Nigel waves frantically at Seacrest--this is apparently the signal that Minaj is almost there. Seacrest jumps off stage and runs out of the studio as they cut to commercial. "This is live, folks!"
