It could just be that the conductor is conducting the band and the singer is either behind him or ahead of him. If this wasn’t a competition, the band leader would be watching the singer to follow them; especially for singers like Mariah or Adele.

The only person shorter on the red carpet than Seacrest was Kristin Chenowith who was short even with a big bun. I really like her but she’s stooping to a low to interview people who have less talent than she does.
