Just how offensive is Sandra Lees crazy Kwanzaa cake?
A recent mea culpa from the creator of this Internet sensation raises the question: What is Kwanzaa food?
It was the cultural mash-up that was destined for the Viral Video Hall of Fame: Sandra Queen of QVC, First Lady of New York Lee going all-out for African America with her Kwanzaa Cake.
In the clip, the very perky and it must be said, white Lee takes her Semi-Homemade philosophy (yes, she refers to it as a philosophy, and yes, its trademarked) to new heights, using an array of store-bought cake, frosting, canned pie filling and corn nuts to celebrate the African-American holiday. As you might guess, the video takes pride of place in the pantheon of hilarious culinary disaster videos. ...

That makes my teeth hurt just looking at it.......more than any sweets Paul (Y’aaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwlllll) Deen does. And, BTW, she DOES NOT do proper Southern cuisine. She just ‘soups it up’ and makes it TOTALLY ‘over the top’. Disgusting. That is NOT how we eat in these parts.

That looks disgusting, but it pleases me to no end that Kwanza celebrators are offended. She should have put a lamp cord around the bottom and replaced the candles with solder irons. ☺

Kwanaa is not real; so why not the cake not be real? Also Paula Deen does not have a real southern accent. A couple of friends of mine spoke to her after a show and were really surprised she did not have a southern accent. Her accent is just to pronounced to have a real one.

Reading the Kwanza cake comments was fun. As someone there noted, she *does* know how to wear a sweater!

A festivus cake is similar to the kwanza cake except substitute a bagel for the angel food.

Kwanzaa was invented by tossing a bunch of afrocentric crapola in a big bowl and mushing it around, then pretending it's a real holiday.
If you really want to make a kwanzaa cake, it should look like the cake The Little Rascals made - with mousetraps and inner tubes and a hot water bottle in it...

As the last sentence states, her Chanukah cake is even more offensive, specifically she uses marshmallows as the center filling, which are made out of pig fat.

I’ve heard Sandra Lee likes her cocktails.
