Andy Reid and Romeo Crennel already have been fired. Rex Ryan to keep his job
The Chargers will finally fire Norv Turner and GM A.J. Smith today.
Name the Big Ten football coach who is again being mentioned for the NFL...
I won’t blame individuals when the Cowboy’s losses have been team losses. The Redskins team outplayed the Cowboy team. Romo’s interception was the result of incredible play by the Redskins’ defenses - from the pass rush to the coverage of the receiver to the pressure to score that made that throw necessary. If the Cowboy’s defense were better, that throw would not have been necessary. Good defensive players were outplayed by the Redskin’s offense.
That’s football. The NFL has 32 teams. By the end of the season all but one will be complaining about their players and coaches.
The name of the game is entertainment. This year, the Cowboys have been VERY entertaining. That’s what sells tickets, advertising, beer, nachos, cars, big screen televisions and such. And that’s what keeps people writing and talking about “their” teams.
After working in sports for over thirty years, I have a different take on the games than others. Enjoy the playoffs!
Lovie Smith just fired per Chicago Sun-Times.
Art Modell is dead...maybe it’s time to move on?
In any case the Browns, at least, have a new owner...he’s got to be an upgrade...across the Lake in Detroit, people are really suffering...fifty years of William Clay Ford, well known ex-alcoholic, scion of the Ford family...pushed off by them to play with his football toy...of course, he wrecked it many years ago.
What a miserable, miserable franchise! And fifty years in...no one can tell Billy anything about running an NFL franchise. Russ Thomas, Matt Millen, and now Mayhew and Schwartz...all incompetent.
Why oh why do people continue to buy tickets to the Lie-downs, Browns, Bills, Chiefs, and Jets???? Why?
The list I see so far:
Crennel out in KC; GM may also be gone.
Reid gone in Philadelphia.
Ryan kept by the Jets; GM let go.
Shurmur and GM both out in Cleveland.
Jacksonville replacing GM and letting them decide on the coach.

Sorry, the McCaskey's in Chicago continue to hold onto that title, and will do so as long as they control the team.
Poor Browns fan can hardly afford clothes to wear. Maybe they should have lost another game?
I want to see Lovie Smith and Co on this list before the end of the day.
As a Sants and Texans fan, I am still trying to figure out how Matt Schaub made the Pro Bowl.
See post 44.
Lovie Smith bites the big irma.
McCaskey???
Three words: William Clay Ford. I rest my case.

“Art Modell is dead...maybe its time to move on?”
What a silly comment.
I wonder if the folks in Baltimore are dispassionate about the Colts?
Do you think the St. Louis fans don’t care about the Cardinals?
NFL teams try to play up the hometown team loyalty angle, until they find a better deal. And in doing so, create long term ill will when they move on. Art Modell was simply the catalyst. The fact that he’s dead means very little to most Cleveland fans. I will acknowledge there are some who would love to pee on his grave. I’m not in that group.
And in Mussolini's Italy, the trains ran on time. During the reign of the National Socialists, autobahns were built. Sure a Mohammedan may have the streets smarts sufficient to build a business but that murderous cult's overarching goal is destruction.
That is great news, but I can't find anything about whether his coaching staff was let go. Can anyone find anything about that?
This being Free Republic, and with all the talk of the Fiscal Cliff, for the merest moment I thought it meant DINGY HARRY was gone.
Thanks for nothing, Perdogg.
Cheers!
