Whitehouse, Texas Joseph Rose and Cole Kellis were leaving their home in Whitehouse on Friday morning when they noticed a deer in their front yard.
Rose approached the deer and he says the deer seemed friendly. But then Kellis and Rose say the deer then charged them and started to attack.
Rose and Kellis ran to Rose's pick-up truck to try to get away from the wild buck. The deer then "poked" Rose in his ribs, so Rose jumped out of his truck into the back-bed. Rose says he left his driver-side door open and the deer climbed in and took his pack of cigarettes that were sitting in his center console.
The deer starting eating Rose's smokes, and when Rose tried to get them back, Rose says the deer got more aggressive.
They then had to call Whitehouse police and the Game Warden. When police arrived they had to tase the deer and then Rose says it took more than 5 men to restrain the buck.
KETK spoke to Smith County Game Warden, Dustin Dockery, and he says, "Admire deer from a distance but do not approach them because they can be dangerous."
What kind of person approaches a buck??
Sounds like the buck had a nicotine addiction.
I feel for the deer. Quitting smoking was the hardest thing I ever did in my life.

There are reasons for approaching a wild animal, but “it seemed friendly” is not one of them. Venison would be the only sensible explanation for this behavior, and trying to kill the buck using lung cancer is not as efficient as using firearms or even archery.
Sounds like the deer would walk a mile for a Camel.
Thank you. I'll be here all week. Be sure to tip your waitress well.
Our small dog was attacked by a doe a few months ago in our backyard while I was out there in the yard.
(went out to call the dog after hearing a ruckus)
The doe had a few fawns on the other side of the hog wire fence yelling their heads off and I got there just in time to see the doe come after the dog, trounced it and was turning to come back for a 2nd strike and I yelled and dog and I ran. The doe followed us for a ways and then stopped and snorted. Then left. The dog was unhurt, but a nervous wreck for hours.
Yep. I think it’s rutting season.
I wonder if that deer is able to apply under Obamao Care to go to a smoking cessation clinic?
It’s hunting season, damn it!
That buck was made of venison. What has happened to Texas, that food can cow not one, but two grown men.
Oh, they were not carrying, and so were forced to cower before venison stew. Serves ‘em right for not exercising their Second Amendment right to be, as Jefferson said, “..at all times armed...”.
Could one then conclude that the unarmed are subject to, and deserve, being bucked?
Boo! ;-)
Oh , Deer !!
Perhaps doe pee is another secret ingredient in the guys smokes. ;-)
The buck stops here.
ROFL
“When was the last time you could get cigarettes for a buck?”
BOO! Hissss!!!
We used to feed the ones at the Ag extention at UofI Pop’s Newports when I was a kid. They LOVED cigarettes.
