The announcement just in that Patraeus has voluntarily agreed to testify about Benghazi makes one wonder:

Did Patraeus fall on his own sword in order to give him more freedom in speaking? Did he resign and, therefore, allow all of this information about his affair to become public, and cause embarrassment to himself and his family, and ruin his record...because he wanted to do the right thing for his country? Maybe. We will see what develops.

Will Petraeus become the next Vince Foster, I wonder?

I hope he outs the coverup and the fact that they blackmailed him to get him to lie. Do the right thing Patraeus—out the Chicago thug liars.

Interesting that it was announced before the press conference.

Hopefully the Koch brothers have secretly offered to make up the difference in pension benefits the general’s gonna lose if he spills the beans.

Good news but count on 95% of his answers to be;

Offering to testify ... possibly one baby step back to being a ‘good man’. Now we’ll see if he says he can’t discuss it, obfuscates, sticks to the protest meme or does he return to his reputation for honor and truthfulness prior to Paula Broadwell. I’m guessing the ‘scales’ have fallen off his eyes in the last week and he’s clearly seeing what a narcissistic opportunistic idiot she is and how badly he got played ... suspect he’s also acutely aware of and smarting from the WH machinations regarding him/Benghazi. Regardless, I’m guessing there are some folks chewing their fingernails in the WH right about now ......

If Petraeus is a credibile and honorable person he will face the music by being tesifying truthfully to the house and senate. all we can now is what and see what happens! just hoping he states the truth and sticks it to Obama and his cronies.

A flawed man most definitely. From the timing of things it looks like the Feebs were nosing into his affairs well before Benghazi happened, because a nasty cat fight over him was going on.

But he may have some interesting things to report. At this point risking his career is moot.

I can see it now:

Special Prosecutor: “General Petraeus has testified that the administration knew of the Benghazi attack while it was underway and refused to send assistance, knowingly allowing those men to die.”

Administration: “Petraeus? This administration refuses to respond to allegations from a disgraced, lying, adulterer”.

MSM: “Who was that disgraced, lying, adulterer Petraeus banging and when did he start banging her? That’s the important story here”.

Right out of the Clinton playbook.

Here's something interesting from a comment on this story at Hot Air...
Friend of mine who works in the pentagon has told me lastnight that petraeus was told to shut up about bhegazi and if he didnt, the white house was going to release the info about his girlfriend. I was told that it was petraues who leaked the affair to preempt the white house and tell the truth about libya.

The white house is trying to get him back in the ranks so they can threaten him with a demotion and take away his pension. My buddy told me who is a guard at the tomb of the unknown soldier told me the general is going to sing like a bird

Is it possible his testimony could be so significant that it leads to a sort of “redemption” in the eyes of the public? Nahhhhhh,,the media propogandists won’t have it.

The trick is that he needs to put put under oath. Sometimes congress lets volunteers testify without penalty of perjury. That cannot be allowed.

Given how many times we have waited for someone of solid character to come forward and expose the real truth about what is going on in the inner circles of government (can no longer say “our government”) only to be disappointed I can only shrug.

Is it possible, all of us who truly believe in the brilliance and courage of the Founders are 100% wrong and the lying liberals are right?

In a country stinking to high heaven with an overabundance of lawyers, is there not at least a handful who can create more uproar in the USSC like the ACLU but instead in defense of the Constitution? I guess not because if our only legal protection comes from the likes of Judicial Watch then once again I question if what I believe in is right.

Given our spineless congress, even if Petraeus comes forward, it would appear the the MaxistMuslim in Chief will simply issue some EO to bury this guy and congress will do nothing.
