Shallie reminds me of my sweet Ginger.

Ginger knew she was not to leave the yard...but did, when we were gone. She would be across the street and when she heard our car coming up the street she would hide her head behind a tree...with her collie body in full sight. Ostrich! When the car passed she would run across the street and run to the driveway from behind our house like she had been in our backyard.

One day my mother couldn't get her to stop barking and when she took a better look she saw that Ginger was barking at a snake and didn't stop until it was killed.

When my dad came home Ginger ran to the dead snake and started barking again until my dad looked...at what she had done. She was one smart dog.

(Thank you for your kind words about the baby chick sand cranes.)

Falling Short

November 19, 2012

One of the fads of 1970s America was the motorcycle jump. This trend reached its high (and low) point on September 8, 1974. Thousands of spectators gathered around the Snake River Canyon in Idaho to see if Evel Knievel could jump across the chasm in a specially designed “sky cycle.” In the end, however, it was unsuccessful. Knievel made it only part of the way across the gulf before his parachute deployed and he dropped to the canyon floor below. Some spectators asked, “How far across the canyon did he get?” But that wasn’t the point. He didn’t make it all the way across, so he fell short of his goal.

This scene is a good illustration of sin. The Bible talks about sin in Romans 3:23, where Paul declared, “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” No one is capable of bridging the gap between God and ourselves by our own efforts, but the Savior came to do just that on our behalf. Christ perfectly fulfilled God’s standards, then gave His life on the cross to pay for our failure and wrongdoing. Where we could only fall short, Christ’s work, offered in love, accomplished all that was needed.

Our response is to trust Him and receive this matchless gift of salvation.

There is no other name on earth
By whom salvation’s given
Save Jesus Christ the Lamb of God,
God’s precious gift from heaven. —Stairs
The cross of Christ bridges the gap
we could never cross on our own.

Read: Romans 3:19-28

All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. —Romans 3:23

Romans 1-4

I found that Libby likes coconut oil and will chew on the hard chewies longer if I give them a light coating, and it is good for her coat. We still are not liking knibble, but I will not cook for a dog.

(I use it on my moist skin after a shower, and pat dry, helps the dry flaky skin, buy it at Walmart in the cooking isle $7 for the LouAnn brand, store at ROOM temp, melts at finger tip temp)

I barely cook for the 2 of us any more. Just quick meals that make more than one serving, that way I cook twice a week maybe 3, depending on if it is soup, then it is only twice. Neither of us need heavy evening meals any more.

The 2 older males RUN from her , no growling or aggression, just scared of her, but they do not reject her left over food as I put fresh out every day. She is drinking well both from the water bottle on the cage and from a dish. I forget how tiny 1.5 lbs is and how small a stomach that must be, I guess a table spoon is plenty of food, it is out all the time so she has access to it, as she ages I will start the 3 times a day, then on to 1 time a day like I do the 2 older males. Have you noticed there are very little toys or gear for a dog this size? I had to turn a ribbon into a leash, and use a cat collar for her. We do not like pee pads either yet.

There will be no Happy Holiday store shopping for me this year, it is the year this CHRISTIAN makes her stand.

I am making up a CHRISTmas sweatshirt to shop in, it will read (would love to get this graphic in the center on the shirt but am not good at drawing. And have no luck with iron ons)

NO JESUS in CHRISTmas

NO REASON TO SHOP!

GET THE MESSAGE?

time for Christians to vote with their wallets, no child's present is worth buying if HE is not at the heart of it, unless it is a child that will soon go home to HIM. NOT even a gift card, just send a CHRISTmas card with an explanation of why they are NOT receiving a gift, or make one out of love for the person and CHRIST birthday.

IT is NOT Happy Holiday's, it is MERRY CHRISTmas or nothing.

The Holy Spirit chased me out of the Wolf Chase Sears last year by the time I was half way through the door, naked wreaths, not one traditional decoration of red or white bows, bulbs or tinsel, just large wreathes with nothing on them. I've not been back since. IF the HS says get out that strong you better listen!

If the same is in your heart ask others to do the same, just get a plain white sweat shirt and a sharpie or fabric paint and go to work it does not have to be fancy or expensive.

IF we do not take a stand we will be a muslin nation in another 5 years. They already own our malls.
