Your prayers are humbly requested for one of our long-time FReepers, Salamander and her new puppy Halla.
Halla is six weeks old and by rights should still be with her mother. Salamander had to take her and rescue her from an incompetent breeder who had let her get worms along with some serious other problems.
The pup was not eating, shaking and may have some neurological damage. The vets have confirmed a cranial injury, but do not yet know how severe.
A moment out of your busy day (or night) to offer up a word to The Lord for both Sal and Halla would be appreciated. Thanks so very much!
Ah yes, the needle-teeth phase.
Thanks to everyone that I have good news to share.
If not for the overwhelming kindness of FReepers, I don’t think her story would be having many happy updates.
She’s still having to go to the vet weekly just to be sure everything is as okay as can be expected but frankly, the night we brought her home from hospital, we truly feared we were just bringing her home to have her pass away in the arms of those who loved her.
I cannot overstate the power of FReeper prayers in her life.
Her vets are still surprised at her recovery.
She’s been going to specialists and by the time our regular vet got to see her [last week] he judged her to be just your average, ‘very bad puppy”...LOL
[He’d never seen her in her former, nearly-gone state]
I hope so, too...:)
Amen!
More like a one-dog pack of hyenas...LOL
Thanks, Daf.
:)
Amen to all of that, TOL.
:)
From your keyboard to God’s ears...:)
I wish it was cold enough to wear gloves.
My hands look like ‘weasels ripped my flesh’.
I hate to imagine what people think when I’m going through a check out line.
My hands are full of little red Morse code dots and dashes from all the punctures and slashes.
;D
I know she’s just going through the usual puppy-bite phase and truth be told, when she wrinkles up her little lips into what she ~thinks~ is a ‘terrifingly ferocious snarl’, I just about pass out from laughing.
I’m like “Seriously?!?”
LOL
Looks are deceiving...LOL
Happy to hear of your good news, Sal... a gift in addition to the “unexpected gift”. Here’s to many happy years of life with Halla! Clink-Yip!-clink!
Thank you, friend.
Every day she seems a little more ‘normal’.
It’s not like raising Odin from a pup was but it’s a gotten LOT better than I ever expected.
[but I can’t wait until she grows out of her ‘demon-posessed stapler’ phase...*ouch*]
;]
;)!!!!! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
Prayers will make it true. She has a good chance of growing out of it. She sure has the energy of a healthy puppy. Happy, too!
I've got a number of lists. Some are longer than others ;-)
The same to you and yours...:)
We hope and pray.
I live for the day she’s able to go outside and run with the pack like a normal dog.
She’s so funny.
She’ll romp until she’s exhausted, go into her puppy pen to ‘refuel’ with some food and milk and come back out for another round of mayhem.
“Pit stops”.
LOL
This must be one the biggest ones, then.
I can usually see about a dozen names and then “.....................”.
It could go on forever, for all I know.
:))
I’m so glad, Sal’. I knew the Lord would soon be bringing you a new set of little baby doggy teeth to bring the “bite” back into your life. Ouch!
Sal’, I need a special favor and a blessing. I’m asking FRiends, such as yourself, to please intercede in prayer on behalf of Sarah, a member of our family at http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-religion/2961375/posts.
It is end-stage breast cancer, which has moved into Sarah’s brain. She is unresponsive in ICU and far, far away from most of her family, who are rushing west across-country to be at her side.
I know you will pray for her, dear FRiend, and thank you. Hugs to you and Halla!
floralamiss
Prayers on the way.
I will keep Halla in my prayers as well as Sarah (about whom is posted beneath this one). Praying Sarah’s family get there in time to say goodbye and that she is at peace with the Lord.
