WHY WAS THERE NO THREAD ABOUT ANDY WILLIAMS?
Posted on 10/06/2012 5:36:35 AM PDT by mamelukesabre
Andy williams was not my favorite. But he was awesome. There was at least one song we did as a marching band in High school that was his. I'm sure there were a few movies he did the theme song to. I do not know what they were. You guys tell me.

What movies did Andy Williams do theme songs for...or simply do songs for that were not theme songs...?

Don’t feel bad. It’s not your fault that you missed the SIX threads about Andy Williams.
They were cleverly disguised by putting his name prominently in the title.

I saw him in Vegas about 30 years ago.My girlfriend and I were at a table on the aisle.Williams made his entrance from the casino and walked down the aisle toward the stage, singing “Moon River” as he walked. He stopped at our table and looked right at my girlfriend (who was truly beautiful) and sang “you heart breaker”.I had to carry her out of the casino when the show was over.
I'm a boomer who likes a lot of my parents' music...particularly the pop stuff from the 50's.McGuire Sisters,Andy Williams, etc.Williams did several great things...Moon River and Canadian Sunset being just two.

You have everything you want to know at the touch of your fingertips. Have you ever heard of Wikipedia? Reliable or not it has some true information.
Christmas is around the corner. Some of his best songs are Christmas songs, in my opinion. His version of “Oh, Holy Night” is probably my all-time favorite.

I haven’t seen any threads about the debate. What’s happening to this place?

...lol! Funny thing is there was a point in time the day after the debate when I scrolled down every story on Freerepublic and every single thread was about the debate. Nothing else. It was sweet!

Didn't Andy Williams sing Born Free? Was that a movie?
Still love Rush's parody of that song, with chain saws in the background.

I’d like to see a “what kind of firearm should I buy” thread someday.

All I saw were threads about Pit Bull attacks, the virtues of light rail, and Global Warming.
Or maybe that was last year. Never mind. :)

What we could really use is a thread that pits U.S. Grant against Robert E. Lee in the battle of Creation v. Evolution.

As I recall, someone tried that once, but it fell flat with very few responses.
(I think the poster was somebody named "humblegunner" or something like that.)

Why do you act like this?
There were plenty of threads on Andy Williams and doubtless there will be a few more this Christmas.

Yep, Andy sang Born Free and I use to do a Parody of it to my friends.
Not Safe for FR and only makes sense with my voice, great, and the words.
It wasn’t too hard to mix the sense of Born Free, Moon River and a depraved mind to come up with lyrics.
Best sung with a drink or two, 1st...
