Debate Wrap: How Is It Going Around the Water Cooler this Morning?
self | jimjohn

Like many of my freepers, I am forced to work amongst some border-line commies. You know, the better enlightened yet less informed ilk who feel it’s fair to drool their political slobber around me. You see, most of them think that since I’m a member of that ethnic group who is expected to vote 99.9% for the current occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, they ASSUME I’m not bothered by their political ignorance.

"Obama was instrumental in my layoff 2 years ago."

Same with me. Obamacare got me terminated.

I got my haircut this morning, only me, my hair dresser and one customer waiting for his turn after me.

The hair dresser asked me my opinion about the election, and I simply said: “I’ll just say that if Obama wins the election, I’ll be very depressed.”

The waiting customer winced, and then said: “I voted for Obama in 2008, and I’ve regretted it for the last four years.”

This is in a town in Metrowest Boston.

Now water cooler here but there was a post on Facebook from
one of our local pinkos (college prof) that claims that
Obama was so incensed at having to share the stage with a
liar that he just couldn't keep his mind on what he was
doing. I was tempted to ask him if this was the case would
he want a person so incapable of dealing with stress to have
the responsibility of making a nuclear strike decision.

“Can’t talk politics at work....”

Same here, but all the conservatives are smiling, smirking and winking at each other.

during the post debate I saw the commercial for Atlas Shrugged II.

the line that sticks:

“The government takes what it wants, what it does not take, it taxes.”

One level-headed RINO said it came down to “Liar liar, pants on fire!”

“I hate having to vote for the lesser of two evils.

Romney sucks less, I suppose.”

I took my severance (for 26+ years service) and then my retirement afterwards. I’m doing OK. Social Security kicks in next year and I plan to use it to set up my kids with a savings plan - my way of helping them to have Social Security when there is no Social Security.

People in my office are no fans of Romney but they all dislike Obama to one degree or another. They all said this morning that Romney was awesome. Even my boss who does not ever state his political leanings gave a big thumbs to his performance last night. I think this changed a lot of folks minds. This event is a game changer. It will be interestng to see the polls in the days to come.

Romney winning big in the ‘twitterverse’ (which, I suppose, is a sort of water cooler).

The debate result won’t change the minds of committed lib Democrats.

I've been listening to the callers on KLBJ in Austin and one lady called in saying she voted for 0 in 2008 and has voted for dims all her life. She was convinced that Romney is the better person to run the country after the debate and will be casting her first vote ever for the (R) ticket.

Now the Ryan/Biden debates are going to be a one-sided blood bath, I expect. All my money is on Ryan.

If you put all your money on Biden, I'd say you needed to get on "Fool" Stamps, like the Obamaphone lady. ;-)

Lunch Time Update at the Water Cooler:

Still depression among huddled masses of zero-loving scum. I overheard talk of them knowing that Biden is Mr. Gaffe-o-matic and sure to make an Obama of himself. They are NOT looking forward to the VP debate. One actually said O needs to do something to change the subject. One said “Well, he does better with a teleprompter, and they should just give them both one next time”. (I kid you not). Some are mad because they say “He didn’t counter Mitt’s lies!”.

Of course, I didn’t engage them. It’s just more fun to listen and watch then squirm.

Mitt got a few last night. But she’s obviously not a committed Dem. A committed Dem is like one of my daughters-in-law who watched the debate, and thought Obama got treated unfairly. To her, all Republicans are stupid, crazy criminals or a combination thereof. Did I mention she’s a lawyer?

Well, this gal said she had an open mind to new ideas and Mitt had some points that change her from obozo to Mitt. Remember, this is Austin TX. My neighbor took a ride around the area today and saw ONE 0 bummer sign.
