I was at Dick's this morning to buy some 223 ammo and was paying in cash. Before the checkout clerk would ring me out I had to tap Yes or No on the pad for the question of "Are you a US citizen"? None of the other gun stores I frequent ask this question......will be my last ever Dick's Sporting Goods purchase.
I’m going to go buy extra boxes of ammo today there in honor of your post.
That was an infringement. Ignore the bootlickers—you were quite right to be outraged.
Your ‘foreigners’ should be subjected to the same ‘controls’ that foreign countrys place on American Citizens. This country is not for foreigners; it is for ‘citizens’.
Concerning to me is what Dicks is doing with that database of customers.
A private company refusing to sell ammo to noncitizens is not an infringement of rights. A private company asking if you are a citizen is not an infringement of rights.
Its a new law, one member said he was told, while another member was told it was because the Dicks chain is now selling AR-15s in their stores.
Guns Save Lifes GunNews Editors John Boch and John Naese stopped by Friday morning, September 14th and talked with the Champaign, IL store manager David Eades to seek clarification.
Mr. Eades said that the company had recently changed policy, chain-wide, and was now asking purchasers of ammunition to verify they are U.S. citizens before allowing them to complete ammunition purchases.
This is the message that Dicks Sporting Goods is asking ammunition
purchasers prior to completing an ammo transaction.
18 USC 922 (d) It shall be unlawful for any person to sell or otherwise
dispose of any firearm or ammunition to any person knowing or
having reasonable cause to believe that such person -
(5) who, being an alien -
(A) is illegally or unlawfully in the United States;
If you’re not a U.S. citizen they can sell you anything and forgo any background checks. ;-)
Well are you?
So, if you’re looking for “gay” stuff, you should buy one of them kayaks....the kind you can ‘bind’ to the top of your VW or Mini-Cooper and drive up to the mountains to get into some white water and get all wet with your ‘roommate’....
Sounds good to me!
Now, when they demand and record your name and address, or ask for your social security number, let me know, and I’ll join your boycott / protest!
Great response, love it! =)
Buy online. It’s cheaper and I do believe UPS will ship to PA
Dick’s is overpriced anyway. This place is pretty good as far as major retailers go, if they are in your area.

And here I thought folks on FR understood the 2A. Some do, such as yourself. Others probably live in states where infringements are the norm and this has no effect on them. Sad.
No it isn’t.
Dick's Ammo Policy Dictated By Law
Of course, if you are buying under DOJ F&F, these rules don't apply.
Perfectly okay with it actually.
That reg applies only to illegal aliens. No such thing any longer thanks to the POTUS. They are now all immigrants, some just waiting for proper documentation.
The 2A says you have the right to keep and bear arms. It does not say that other citizens are prohibited from checking your citizenship status before selling you the arms or the supplies to use and maintain them.
