That’s essentially what Romney is doing. If he hits Obama too hard, before the debates, he risks creating a sympathetic person out of Obama, giving him an upperhand.

Then Romney will just look small minded and mean with any further carpet bombing.

However, if Romney can make Obama look like a fool onstage, then properly placed commercials will deliver the coup de grace.

What I find really interesting, obama is running TV ads here.
Nothing from Romney.

Oh bs, a negative ad can be done right, and it’s needed to push Obama’s negatives up.

Actually, I think the uneducated masses won't watch the debates, but they will pay attention to the ads. I don't watch huge amounts of tv, but it seems there are a lot of negative Obama ads and few, if any, Romney ads. If Romney doesn't get himself out there to refute those ads and put out more of his own, he might not be able to pick up momentum with the debates or after. It will be too little, too late.

I hear that often: Obama ads running in CA. There are 2 possible reasons:

1. Obama is polling poorly there.
2. It’s a technique of rallying his most devout supporters to send him more money.

I cannot believe it’s the former.

I was in northern VA for 3 days last week. Obama ads ad nasuem, much to my disgust. I was surprised that they thought they needed to convince the government workers in that area....so maybe things are not as rosy for Dear Leader as the WashCompost and others suggest...I hope not!
