You are rigid and stiff and do not know what you are talking about. Sin is pride and anger, not spilling milk. All sin descends from pride. Once pride and it’s accompanying annoyance and judgments...all addiction are an expression of those root sins. You also have learned your salvation and do not really know God yet. Good luck wit that!

And yes, you guys are good at quoting, although often out of contexts, the bible. But you have made the deadly mistake of learning God and Jesus, and not really being blessed by them. It is like because you can quote and know in your head the passages of very blessed people, then you are like those people..not! You all have made a critical mistake and now defend it with your dear ego lives.

Whatever. If you are ever interested in having a real, two-sided conversation, let me know. I bear you no ill will. I just can’t see spending my time like this, finding more and more evidence for you to ignore.

BTW, self hypnosis can make you happy, for a while. So can sticking your head in the sand. But being forgiven is way better. Trust me. I’ve done both. It’s like being blind and thinking you know what color is, and fancying yourself as a great artist. Then one day you learn you are blind, and you long to see but you can’t. Then God heals your eyes, and you see color and form and perspective, and you look at your old drawings and you cringe at how awful they are. And the Master Artist leads you into His studio and shows you His work and you realize how far you have to go, but you also realize what a joy it will be to learn and grow under Him.

Bottom line, don’t feel sorry for us. We thoroughly enjoy being forgiven, and forgiving, for it is how we grow into the fullness of Christ, which is a great blessing to us, like receiving sight, or being healed of paralysis, or being raised from the dead (how I felt when I was saved). We have tried to share that joy with you, and you are not interested. So be it.

But I’ll leave the light on for you, should you ever change your mind.

Peace,

SR

Silent prayer and watching..the mind just as Jesus told the disciples to do that night in the garden most assuredly is not hypnosis. Actually you may not know this but the root meaning of prayer is to examin oneslef...and that does not mean the body...but the mind and avenue where all evil is transmitted to the human race.

Um, nope. Prayer involves talking to God. Nothing wrong with self examination, but I believe you’ve been misled about its root meaning. For one thing, you’d have to cite a specific passage, because there’s more than one word for prayer in the Bible, depending on circumstances.

And I’d love to unfold all that for you, but I can’t see spending any time on developing information that contradicts your preconceived notions, because you are probably going to ignore it, just like you’re doing now. You never address the data you don’t like. Tell me why I should bother? Better yet, tell me Polycarp’s affirmation that Jesus is God had made you realize you were wrong on that issue. No admission, no reason for me to stay in this.

Peace,

SR

There is nothing preconceived at all...it has lead to the total transformation of my life and many others. God already knows what we need as stated in scripture...we need to hear His wordless light and live by it. All the talking in the world will not help you much. Why do you think the bible says to “Be still and know that I am God” ? That is watching and true prayer. And if we are indeed to pray unceasingly as the bible states, does that mean we are to talk to God all the time? Of course not. You and the church simply have not the understanding of what people need to really wake up. You just do not.

I hate to break it to you AGAIN, Fabian, but you have made another HUGE error (sin) by presuming that you know my heart. You have also been the one to respond in noticeable anger and pride because you refuse to even consider the reams of Biblical evidence provided to you that clearly disputes yours and Roy Masters false gospel. Your presumed “sinlessness” is a facade and one which will keep you from going to heaven when you die. I won't give up on you. I'm praying for your spiritual eyes to be opened. I will continue to.

“All humans have sinned, so my argument isn’t ridiculous at all.”
Of course they have but that was never my stance! I was a big sinner. And I have provided many passages which show that if we are born again, we no longer sin. What you guys have done with Jesus is created an affirmative action salvation where one can keep on being a sinner and still receive the beauty of heaven. Now there is a process of purification towards ultimate salvation, but to go and say you have the whole pie when you don’t is a deception. Just be honest and say that you are on the road towards that salvation and God loves that and I am sure there are many people in heaven whose lives were cut short, especially military people, who were on the right path and were saved.
I don’t know about this knowing your heart stuff. I never judge anyone and know people can always awaken, but you do have a rigidness about you and you make that clear with your definition of sin. Not sinning does not mean we are perfect as all of eternity is like a school for us. It just means we are perfect in not resenting and judging anyone. All sins do indeed come from pride. Once we are in God’s army, we have no need to feel special and put anyone down, we only want to stand up for right and help people come to that same place.

Of course they have (all have sinned) but that was never my stance! I was a big sinner.

Good, I finally feel like we're getting somewhere! So, you admit that you HAVE sinned, what do you think can save you from the eternal consequence of that sin? Romans 6:23 says, "The wages of sin is DEATH.". God doesn't just ignore our sins but requires satisfaction for them. In the Old Testament times, there was a blood sacrifice required every year to expiate (cover) sin. This was done as an object lesson, a sign, of when the Messiah, the Lamb of God, would come and be the "once for all" blood sacrifice to make complete atonement for sins. In order to do this for everyone else, and not for himself, this savior HAD to be sinless - from birth - having NEVER sinned. Only the God/man Jesus Christ fit this need. That's why we Christians believe that Jesus IS God in the flesh. That's why I asked you about what you believe about your past sins. Do you think God ignores them if you are "good enough"?

And I have provided many passages which show that if we are born again, we no longer sin. What you guys have done with Jesus is created an affirmative action salvation where one can keep on being a sinner and still receive the beauty of heaven. Now there is a process of purification towards ultimate salvation, but to go and say you have the whole pie when you don’t is a deception. Just be honest and say that you are on the road towards that salvation and God loves that and I am sure there are many people in heaven whose lives were cut short, especially military people, who were on the right path and were saved.

That IS what the word of God says, like Springfield Reformer so eloquently explained. We are freed from the debt of our sins by the blood of Christ and we will not be condemned when we have received his gift by faith. We are on the road to our ultimate home in heaven with God and we are RIGHT NOW saved because of grace. You are preaching what Paul calls an "accursed gospel" because you are perverting the gospel of salvation by grace through faith in Christ alone. We are not saved by our good deeds, our works in the flesh, by avoiding sinning, but purely by grace APART from works. If what you are saying is what Roy Masters is teaching, then you are being deceived.

I don’t know about this knowing your heart stuff. I never judge anyone and know people can always awaken, but you do have a rigidness about you and you make that clear with your definition of sin.

Yes, you ARE judging me because you presume to know my heart and what my relationship is to my Creator. You said:

You are rigid and stiff and do not know what you are talking about. Sin is pride and anger, not spilling milk. All sin descends from pride. Once pride and it’s accompanying annoyance and judgments...all addiction are an expression of those root sins. You also have learned your salvation and do not really know God yet. Good luck wit that!

THAT is judging, and yet you claim you don't do it. I guess this sinlessness you claim to have is slipping or else your definition is skewed.

Except, when we go to be with God in eternity we will be in our glorified bodies and we will NEVER sin again nor have a sin problem. In fact, God will wipe away every tear from our eyes and there will no longer be sin or sickness or death, because ALL things will become new. You say you want to "stand up for right", so do I, but what is right is what God says, not what fallible men say. You say you want "to help people come to that same place", so do I, but the "place" must be the real Christian life as we are instructed by God's word. Anyone who thinks they can go around God's way and invent their own, is deceived and those who they lead away from God's way are being lead into the same deception. What you call "rigid", is simply being faithful to what God has said. No person who sincerely seeks to do God's will will ignore God's word. I hope you will remember this.

No one that does the Be Still silent prayer is ignoring God’s word at all. And you cannot take the heat of real love..you ARE rigid and you do not know God. That is obvious to me...you only know what you have learned in a similar fashion of learning algebra. But that is not the way salvation works. If that means that I know your heart, fine with me. I never judged you, I merely see you as you are and Gos knows you have a lot of company in the apostasy of today!
Maybe you will awaken, maybe you will not, who knows.

Do me a favor, and don’t paint me out to be or write something that I never have. And I have never written nor led anyone to believe that I have never sinned and you know it. I have always argued that once we are saved, then we no longer sin and that is what all of the passages that I posted were about. So don’t be coy with me.

Sorry to butt in again, but I just have to laugh. Is this satire? Is there a hidden camera somewhere? It's hard to believe you can say such caustic things about BB, things that only God himself could know, and that's not judging. But misrepresentation of you, even if it was honestly based on your refusal for most of the thread to be clear about the point, well that's just awful, and we're all judging poor little you.

What this tells me is that part of our problem here is we are not all using the same dictionary. What you are doing to BB absolutely is what most people consider the bad kind of judging, the very thing Jesus was prohibiting us to do. Yet you appear to have somehow so redefined it in your own mind that we, well, at least I, have no idea what you mean by it. Seriously. No joke. Apart from the Pharisees, I’ve never seen a more textbook case of forbidden judging.

Now there is a good kind of judging:

John 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

From this we see how Christians can use righteous judgment, both to do good, and to avoid various sins, like listening to false teachers, falling into gross sin like homosexuality, fornication, etc. We use the wise judgment that comes from God’s law to understand what evil is, and what goodness is, so we can avoid it. That’s good judgment. And that’s not what’s been on display here with you’re trashing of BB, basically for being faithful to God’s directions given in his word. It’s not wrong for BB to honor God’s truth. It is wrong for you to pretend you know about BB what only God can know.

So I’m wondering, do you think God has given you special powers that enable you to judge others? I’m not mocking you. I wish to know if you really believe that what you are doing is exempt from Jesus’ command, just like you believed you could safely call people dummies, even though Jesus said not to.

I guess my real question is this: If you don’t think what you’re doing to BB is the bad kind of judging, please tell me what you think bad judging is? I am genuinely curious.

Peace,

SR

This line:

“We use the wise judgment that comes from God’s law to understand what evil is, and what goodness is, so we can avoid it.”

Should be:

“We use the wise judgment that comes from God’s law to understand what evil is, so we can avoid it, and what goodness is, so we can do it.”

Sorry. Not the Droid’s fault this time. Guess I’m not perfect afetr all. :)

Yes, good judgment which is more aptly called discernment and keeps me from believing the apostasy of affirmative action salvation which you and BB have swallowed hook, line, and sinker. Too bad...you guys are missing the very power of what Jesus did for all mankind....few are those that are willing though. Easier to believe you can keep on sinning! And I have judged no one...I don’t look down on you guys nor do I have any idea if you will wake up or not. But I do clearly see you guys have a false type of salvation and have way overly learned truth. Truth is much simpler and imparted by God in a wonderful way that you are leaving behind.

We all strive for discernment, but how is it possible to discern what is good from bad if there is no yardstick or measuring rod with which to know? Can you base it on your inward feelings? The Scriptures say we are all sinners and that we are at enmity with God unless we have been born again. It also says that the heart is "desperately wicked who can know it", so relying upon our feelings is not a good way to discern good from bad. We need something that is both objective rather than subjective, and something that is not burdened by the same lack of absolute knowledge. The ONLY one I can think of is God, how about you? And if it is God alone who can be the guide to help us discern good from evil, then, what better way than through HIS divinely-inspired words? If we know that God gave us His inspired words - which are instilled with power the world can never copy - then they are preserved for us for a purpose. Good judgment based upon Godly guidelines allows us to have correct discernment. What you term "affirmative action salvation" is a curious thing to say and whatever it is in your mind you, somehow, have become convinced that SR and I have swallowed the "apostasy" of it and are missing the power of what Jesus did for all mankind. Yet, you have not once suggested that this "power" is anything other than the false and contrived, as well as UN-Biblical, doctrine that Jesus is not God, that he "learned" to become sinless and that he is only here as an example for us to also live sinlessly so that we can one day make it to heaven where we will have all eternity to perfect it.

What we have been doing the past week is to demonstrate from the word of God what He actually has to say about the matter. All you have brought to the table is snippets of verses, pulled out of their full context and made to appear to contradict other verses - something God will never do. You have attempted to gather these snippets together like a jigsaw puzzle and arranged them to try to tell the tale of the Roy Masters gospel that you have become convinced is THE truth, and nothing but the truth, which is curious in light of Masters' assertion that it is not the written word which matters, but the "feeling" one gets by "being still" and letting the light of God flow to them. But, without that discernment we get from Holy Scripture, you really have no way to know if that "light" is coming from God or from the "angel of light" (satan), whose ministers are ministers of righteousness, but who are truly demons of satan. Read Ephesians 6:10-17 about the "armor of God" Christians are to put on when they go out to battle against the devil's schemes:

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

When you say we have a "false type of salvation" and "way overly learned truth", remember this passage of Scripture. The simple and wonderful way of salvation is through faith in Jesus Christ, who has saved us by his precious blood by which all our sins are washed away. We have NOT left this behind but cling to it as the dearest treasure, the pearl of great price. The life we lead until we go to be with Him in heaven, is a battle that we all must fight. Sitting back and pretending it is not going on is foolish and leave us all the more vulnerable to the wiles of the devil, who wars against our souls. Those fiery darts can ONLY be stopped by the shield of faith and the only offensive weapon in our arsenal is the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. Please do not underestimate the power it contains.

“We are not saved by our good deeds, our works in the flesh, by avoiding sinning, but purely by grace APART from works”

That does not appear to be scriptural:

James 2:24
King James Version (KJV)
24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only

The Thief on the Cross was saved by Faith alone, but that appears to be a special case. After all, he died on a cross next to Jesus. But James, reported to be the half brother of Jesus, clearly said that a man is not justified by faith only.
