Good, I finally feel like we're getting somewhere! So, you admit that you HAVE sinned, what do you think can save you from the eternal consequence of that sin? Romans 6:23 says, "The wages of sin is DEATH.". God doesn't just ignore our sins but requires satisfaction for them. In the Old Testament times, there was a blood sacrifice required every year to expiate (cover) sin. This was done as an object lesson, a sign, of when the Messiah, the Lamb of God, would come and be the "once for all" blood sacrifice to make complete atonement for sins. In order to do this for everyone else, and not for himself, this savior HAD to be sinless - from birth - having NEVER sinned. Only the God/man Jesus Christ fit this need. That's why we Christians believe that Jesus IS God in the flesh. That's why I asked you about what you believe about your past sins. Do you think God ignores them if you are "good enough"?
And I have provided many passages which show that if we are born again, we no longer sin. What you guys have done with Jesus is created an affirmative action salvation where one can keep on being a sinner and still receive the beauty of heaven. Now there is a process of purification towards ultimate salvation, but to go and say you have the whole pie when you dont is a deception. Just be honest and say that you are on the road towards that salvation and God loves that and I am sure there are many people in heaven whose lives were cut short, especially military people, who were on the right path and were saved.
That IS what the word of God says, like Springfield Reformer so eloquently explained. We are freed from the debt of our sins by the blood of Christ and we will not be condemned when we have received his gift by faith. We are on the road to our ultimate home in heaven with God and we are RIGHT NOW saved because of grace. You are preaching what Paul calls an "accursed gospel" because you are perverting the gospel of salvation by grace through faith in Christ alone. We are not saved by our good deeds, our works in the flesh, by avoiding sinning, but purely by grace APART from works. If what you are saying is what Roy Masters is teaching, then you are being deceived.
I dont know about this knowing your heart stuff. I never judge anyone and know people can always awaken, but you do have a rigidness about you and you make that clear with your definition of sin.
Yes, you ARE judging me because you presume to know my heart and what my relationship is to my Creator. You said:
You are rigid and stiff and do not know what you are talking about. Sin is pride and anger, not spilling milk. All sin descends from pride. Once pride and its accompanying annoyance and judgments...all addiction are an expression of those root sins. You also have learned your salvation and do not really know God yet. Good luck wit that!
THAT is judging, and yet you claim you don't do it. I guess this sinlessness you claim to have is slipping or else your definition is skewed.
Not sinning does not mean we are perfect as all of eternity is like a school for us. It just means we are perfect in not resenting and judging anyone. All sins do indeed come from pride. Once we are in Gods army, we have no need to feel special and put anyone down, we only want to stand up for right and help people come to that same place.
Except, when we go to be with God in eternity we will be in our glorified bodies and we will NEVER sin again nor have a sin problem. In fact, God will wipe away every tear from our eyes and there will no longer be sin or sickness or death, because ALL things will become new. You say you want to "stand up for right", so do I, but what is right is what God says, not what fallible men say. You say you want "to help people come to that same place", so do I, but the "place" must be the real Christian life as we are instructed by God's word. Anyone who thinks they can go around God's way and invent their own, is deceived and those who they lead away from God's way are being lead into the same deception. What you call "rigid", is simply being faithful to what God has said. No person who sincerely seeks to do God's will will ignore God's word. I hope you will remember this.
No one that does the Be Still silent prayer is ignoring God’s word at all. And you cannot take the heat of real love..you ARE rigid and you do not know God. That is obvious to me...you only know what you have learned in a similar fashion of learning algebra. But that is not the way salvation works. If that means that I know your heart, fine with me. I never judged you, I merely see you as you are and Gos knows you have a lot of company in the apostasy of today!
Maybe you will awaken, maybe you will not, who knows.
Do me a favor, and don’t paint me out to be or write something that I never have. And I have never written nor led anyone to believe that I have never sinned and you know it. I have always argued that once we are saved, then we no longer sin and that is what all of the passages that I posted were about. So don’t be coy with me.
“We are not saved by our good deeds, our works in the flesh, by avoiding sinning, but purely by grace APART from works”
That does not appear to be scriptural:
James 2:24
King James Version (KJV)
24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only
The Thief on the Cross was saved by Faith alone, but that appears to be a special case. After all, he died on a cross next to Jesus. But James, reported to be the half brother of Jesus, clearly said that a man is not justified by faith only.
