If you were wondering who Nicki Minaj was planning to vote for in November, wonder no more: Like Clint Eastwood, she's a Mitt Romney fan.
In an appearance on Lil Wayne's new mixtape, "Dedication 4," the platinum-selling rapper says she's not particularly thrilled at the job President Obama has done so far.
She puts it a little more bluntly. As noted by hip-hop site Rap Dose, Minaj raps, "I'm a Republican votin' for Mitt Romney/You lazy b****es is f***in' up the economy."
Of note: Minaj's pro-Romney rap comes over Kanye West and GOOD Music's "Mercy." The president famously called West a "jacka**" after West's interruption of Taylor Swift at the 2009 Video Music Awards, but West also attended the 2008 Democratic convention in support of Obama.
Cool. The rapping Republicans vs. the empty chair Democrats.
So you are stuned?
It has to be part of a conspiracy to take votes away from Romney.
That or she doesn’t want to see a tax hike.
Same here. A complete shocker.
“So you are stuned?”
My Beeber is. So am I. This means a lot more than we think at first look. This is good.
I’m not very fond of Minaj..but...now ain’t the time to be choosy
I’m wondering if Kyra Sedgewick was telegraphing this week herself.
probably not...she sure looks fine for 48
I have no use for rap.
But alot of the younger people do.
It may not be a bad thing.
Hey, we’ll take support any way we can get it. If Barack Hussein Obama (mmm mmm mmm) is losing the hiphop crowd, this could be a Reagan ‘84-style 49-State landslide.
I’m a Republican votin’ for Mitt Romney/You lazy b****es is f***in’ up the economy.”
Don’t care for the “music” but I guess some folks get the real message. My musical tastes weren’t my parents’ either, but I got the message of being an American
This is the performer who used an award ceremony earlier this year to stage an elaborate antiCatholic skit.
Some people I don’t want to be Republican.
She was pretending, you can bet she’s an O-Bot who is trying to get people to take the bait.
Uh. No thanks. Cultural gutter rot.
Bleh. She can keep her culture in a petri dish where it belongs.
A cynical person would say she is supporting Romney to gain attention in order to broaden her buying public for her music. Obama’s market appeal is diminishing, Romney’s is rising.
I am waiting to see actual video and audio of her supporting Romney before I believe this report. I know Zap2it has a lot of cred industry wise like TMZ but I would like to see a Tweet or something official from her other than some lines in a hip hop song.
