I,like some but unlike many, make many eoors when posting.Spelling (yes,I use spell check...usually),punctuation and other errors are often made by me.Is there a way that FR can set up something like what I've seen on other forums (car forums, for example) that allow the poster to delete of edit a post after "post" has been hit? I know nothing about computers and, therefore, don't know how difficult and/or expensive it be,if it's possible at all. Thanks!
It's either possible or it's not.But from what I've seen elsewhere it does seem to be possible. The next issue is how difficult and/or expensive it might be to set up and maintain. But if,by chance,it's neither difficult *nor* expensive....
There is always an “Edit’ or “Delete” option - Just post a message to “Admin Moderator”. :-)
Or, if I catch the error...

Your spacebar is definitely missing. That said, can you imagine how jacked up a post would flow if people changed their post after the fact? It would ruin FR.

It’s your spell checker making all those mistakes. Intentionally. It’s pissed because you refuse to put a space in after commas and periods.
That's not what I had in mind. Many, many years ago the nuns taught me that spaces are not placed there.I've seen over the years that some don't adhere to that, but it's the way *I* was brought up.
God,that’s funny!
Prohibition was not erased. There’s still a record of it.
Are we talking about "pre-Internet" or "pre-mechanical typewriter" years ago?
And were those "pre-Vatican II" or "pre-Nicean Council" nuns?
Seriously: Whatever you remember those nuns having taught you, it's time to come to grips with the fact that it's wrong.
I defy you to present a single book (the "Domesday Book" and the "Book of Kells" excepted) which adheres to such orthography!
Regards,
P.S. Are you a "Gay-State Conservative" or a "Gay State-Conservative?"
“You can amend but never erase.”
Amending is not necessary either.
Maybe it’s just me but I find it very annoying when folks post an obvious typo and 20 posts later make another post just to correct that typo. Typos are fine. If you make a mistake, just move on.

Maybe you might want to go back and read through your old school notes. I have never seen a claim, anywhere, that spaces don't belong after commas or periods. Look at any printed material, and you will see that spaces follow most punctuation. I was taught that one space separates elements within a sentence, and two spaces separate sentences.
If I make a mistake, I post a correct version as soon as I can, and report the incorrect version to the moderator for deletion. I also report accidental duplicate posts. The moderators are usually very good about deleting the reported posts promptly.
You could call it the "troll-enabling" function.
In proportional font word processing, you should avoid double spaces since it can cause weird line and paragraph breaks. I'm with you on the space following commas, periods, colons, etc. and it's hard to believe someone being taught they aren't required. That's almost as bad as typing in all caps!

Really. No offense, but those nuns were obviously mis-educated about the rules of English punctuation. Read any book or publication you care to. You'll see a space placed after every comma and period. That is the convention of our language (and most others).
