If the system had been left alone, the market would have eventually provided the South with a replacement solution which would have prospered through economic necessity.
Fixing the South’s economy doesn’t mean the slavery/people are property issue would have been settled. There is no justification that the plantation system ending would have meant blacks were going to be equal and free people down there. No logical link at all.
Sure there is. Eventually, the ownership of people wouldn’t have made any economic sense.
