You are right. The Death March is complete at this point and the surviving prisoners are at Camp O’Donnell.

I tried looking up more information on the saint in question but didn't find much. I then contacted the publisher (it is a periodical called Magnificat, a fact I should have included in the reply) and relayed the three points for which you question the accuracy. If I get a response I will pass it along.

Although many people died at Dachau, it was not a death camp. Of those, there were six: Belzec, Treblinka, Sobibor, Chelmo, Maidjaneck, and Birkenau [Auschwitz II].All in the East.

Rascher was a Luftwaffe doctor, who was notorious for his high altitude tests on KZ prisoners [with using female prisoners to wrm them up]. He had requested Himmler to allow him to ‘work’ at Dachau, but was not SS.

Rascher, along with his middle-aged wife kidnapped ‘Aryan’ looking babies in the camp, and passed them off as their own [trying to score points with Himmler’s mania about fertility]. when Himmler found out, he had Rqscher shot.

Makes sense, the Germans didn’t want the local populations in the Reich to be able to smell the burning bodies that they would have had to dispose of, that’s why the death camps were located in Poland.
