The first 5 years of a child's life ... it is said ... determines their view of the world and the people in life. Therefore it is vital to be an influence for good and not ill. What can thoughtlesslessly be instilled into a child may take years of struggle coming to terms with it later on in life. To give love we must know love in our own life. There is no greater human gift that loving kindness, and creating an atmosphere where a child is welcomed and included. MO

The windmill brought an important factor to a farmer. IE. First water ... before, it took the horse, a big barrel, and the a sled to obtain water from the well that was 1/4 mile away and get it to the house. Second it powered the battery for the RADIO! Making it possible to get news from the outside world. Local and beyond. Times they were changing, WAR, Depression, dust bowl. All difficult to survive.. Adjusting to circumstances is a life long daily routine. Still is, only we have different challenges. God wants us to know Him, have a good life, and to bless others. Daily adjustments are part of doing this.

When I think of how hard their days were... it causes me to feel lazy by contrast. They did whatever it took in so far as they could.

We went to a great-niece's wedding a couple of years ago ....
Guess what ... they danced to the Chicken Dance and the Hokie Pokie.
We didn't dance .... but Marissa did!
All the young people were having a ball.
It was fun!
