Thank you Teenie.
I was falsely accused of “sabotaging” a child’s performance, and accused of being “Snippy and uncaring”. Of course i was also fired. Which is fine with me.
I worked so hard on that recital, and this is what I get.
I felt about ready to give up.
I got wonderful reports from several othe parents, so I KNOW it’s not “Me”, but it still hurts like the dickens.

More loving memories of days past.
Thank you both!
Hope your week goes well!

Very nice, jaycee.
I believe we have seen more of all verses of our patriotic songs in the past 2 years than we ever have. 'Bout time people realize there is more!
Thank you!

Sounds like a liberal with the excuse of 'someone elses fault'. Some parents are hard to deal with and you're better off not having to deal with them. I feel sorry for the child.
As passionate as you are about music the parent must be a real prize!
If it's one out of 10...let it go and know you did your best. I could never be any kind of teacher..I'd be fired on the first day...lol.

Good to see you DD!
Still praying for your complete healing. Are you gaining more weight? Pain easing any?
Would love to see a pic of the wind chime before you present it to your wonderful doc! :)

Well, this is what happened.
NONE of the clubhouses have pianos, so I PURCHASED and electric piano for the recital, schlepped ALL the equipment in, set it up, and did the show. The little girl was startle by the difference in the sound and so she declined to play the last of her four songs because she was afraid she would mess up. I totally understood and was supportive, but when the mother asked why she didn’t play the last song I blithely said...”well that little piano isn’t a Steinway”, in effect, taking responsibility for the little not-so-great piano. Well SHE took this as a very snippy and offensive statement (she HAS a Steinway!) and called me this morning and reamed me out on the phone. She hurt me deeply, and brought me to tears. I am just as happy not to go there anymore, but being falsely accused is one of my “buttons” unfortunately. It takes a while to get over it. Maybe i should sit down and watch Mel Gibson’s “The PASSION” to get my indignation out of my system, eh?

Some people have no sense of humor. I, personally, would have chuckled at the statement. But then, I don't own a Steinway.
However, there is a keyboard here that can make the sound of any instrument you wish. Unfortunately, being an untalented musician myself, it lives in the closet...lol.

Hi teenie.
Here's a picture of the chimes I make. They are tuned to Am chord. This is not the set that goes to my dr but it looks and sounds the same.
Over time, the paint will fade and chip, but the ring of FREEDOM will ring forever.

Oh, forgot this... there are 50 stars for each state scattered on the 6 tubes. Not 57 like a certain idiot seems to think. ;^)
Not gaining much weight yet and the pain is still present and slows me down.

Thanks for remembering our troops on Military Monday, Meg.
I had a busy day also .... then I took a nap. :~)
I had planned to post a couple of holidays but the day got away from me. Seems that happens often. :-(
Hope your day was marvelous.

GOOD MILITARY MONDAY TO AMYS PLACE!
The Soldiers Code
1) I am an American fighting man. I serve in the forces which guard my country and our way of life. I am prepared to give my life in their defense.
2) I will never surrender of my own free will. If in command, I will never surrender my men while they still have the means to resist.
3) If I am captured, I will continue to resist by all means available. I will make every effort to escape and aid others to escape. I will accept neither parole nor special favors from the enemy.
4) If I become a prisoner of war, I will keep faith with my fellow prisoners. I will give no information or take part in any action which might be harmful to my comrades. If I am senior, I will take command. If not, I will obey the lawful orders of those appointed over me, and will back them up in every way.
5) When questioned, should I become a prisoner of war, I am bound to give only name, rank, service number, and date of birth. I will evade answering further questions to the utmost of my ability. I will make no oral or written statements disloyal to my country and its allies, or harmful to their cause.
6) I will never forget that I am an American fighting man, responsible for my actions, and dedicated to the principles which made my country free. I will trust in my God and in the United States of America.
President Dwight D. Eisenhower, August, 1955.
