I take Olive Oyl on me spinach.

She said she didn’t go in for that kinky stuff but she’s a naughtier girl than she knew.

Olive oil and mustard powder. Soak for a couple of days then use. Olive oil is great stuff as a base for marinades. Soak your favourite herb in it for a few days and use.

So - as someone who loves spicy stuff, but not mustard - does it taste like mustard or make food taste like mustard?

Mix :
(1) tablespoon of cayenne pepper,
(1) of cumin,
(1) of mustard powder

with
1/4 cup of pure honey,
1/4 cup of Wild Turkey 101

Blend thoroughly and then coat boneless chicken breasts, toss into hot skillet, while cooking add 1 teaspoon of lime juice, 1/2 cup of sliced white onion, 1/2 cup of chopped green onions, 1/4 cup of pure olive oil.

Serve over rice or noodles as preferred, have plenty of cold water on hand, it’s going to be spicy. :)

So you waste our time with a vanity? Do you ever consider other peoples needs? What about Laz? Did you consider him before posting this drivel? I didn’t think so.

Being an entrepreneur, I am always looking for a need that is not filled.

I love Indian spices and Chinese sauces. Problem is, I don’t trust foreign sources for such things. Some of those guys would poison a customer for a dollar.

Someone needs to start growing the herbs and spices and making organic spices and such right here in America.

I would buy it if I could find it.

I’ll have to try the mustard.
Two years ago I developed an allergy to peppers and tomatos.
I get hives and my throat swells up and I have difficulty breathing if I eat them. I can’t think of a worse curse. Everything good has tomatos or peppers or both.
The mustard oil might be just what I need to give things a zing.

A few notes (a useful list that would be good to save):

Some chefs now regard the “ultimate” sauce as a 50/50 mix of Worcestershire sauce and Tabasco Sauce.

The two together are the western equivalent of Chinese Five Spice Powder, which is supposed to be a perfect blend of Yin and Yang ingredients to achieve culinary balance.

Except it is a near perfect blend of sweet-sour-salty-bitter-savory(umami)-spicy(piquance), so when added to recipes that have fats (fatty or oily taste), it covers most the taste spectrum, except for coolness (minty, menthol or camphor), astringent (alum or lemon), heartiness (as from alcohol), and numbness (such as from nutmeg or clove).

To create a functional balance of combinations of the above in your cooking turns ordinary food into something special.

*******************

Otherwise, it’s important to know that mustard and other spicy foods are known to irritate cells in the intestine that could impact inflammatory conditions from IBS to arthritis. However the cure for this is simple: peppermint. For some reason peppermint soothes these cells, and can help alleviate some of these problems.

So if you have such problems, but like spicy food to include mustard, be sure to finish off your meal with some real peppermint candies, or some Altoids.
