Aged 20, Ashley Ransley was severely anorexic, and despite her 6ft frame she weighed the same as a 12-year-old.
Doctors warned her she could have a heart attack at any moment as her body gradually shut down, and following years of failed treatments she resigned herself to a slow suicide.

‘Feeding up a bony stray cat saved me from anorexia’
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Whadya feed it up to? a pit bull? An east asian dude?
kittys saves the day! (Cute kid!)
How did it taste??
PING this one over to Slings and Arrows!
I remember the George Carlin routine about anorexia,,,, trying to explain to Africans about rich white girls that refuse to eat. Funny stuff lol,,
Pretty kitteh. Cute girl too.
7st 10lbs = 108 pounds when she got the cat.
11st 6lbs = 160 pounds now.
£1.0 = $1.59015
I do not understand “anorexia”
Eat a damn sandwich already....
If you go to a doctor for it, the doctor can give you a sandwich, and you should eat it
Isn’t there anyone who can just say “here eat this sandwich”
Eat a damn sandwich already....
Isnt there anyone who can just say here eat this sandwich
Typically there are plenty of people telling them to eat more. They get off on not eating.
If you go to a doctor for it, the doctor can give you a sandwich, and you should eat it.
The person with anorexia would either refuse to eat the sandwich, pretend to eat the sandwich, or say they were going to eat it and not do it.
Or eat it and then sneak off and throw it up.
If you have some time, look deep into ED. That is their name for eating disorder.
They have blogs and websites dedicated to encourage this behavior.
Unfortunately, they are deep within the search world. Very very sick girls.
A warm and wonderful story. I wish them many more years of health and companionship.
Notice the picture near the bottom of the article - we know the cat is healthy because she’s lying on the couch like she owns it. Which she does, along with the rest of the house!
This cat became a life saver!
A very cool story. File Under: God works, mysterious ways.
That cat probably did save her life, and she saved the cat’s. Amazing.
She did, and I am very grateful for it. Thank you for the nice comment. And an FYI to some previous comments, I was and still am most certainly not a “rich” girl in the financial aspect. Eating disorders are largely misunderstood, but they are a mental illness. Just as it would be counter-productive and illogical to tell someone with a physical illness such as cancer to just “get over it,” it would be the same to tell someone with an eating disorder to just “eat a sandwich.” If I could have earlier in the illness, I most certainly would have. I did not ask to be that ill. My illness stemmed from a lack of control in my life as a result of sexual assault, abusive relationship, and emotional abuse from a family member. I know it’s easy to scoff at things not understood well, but education is your friend. Thank you, again, for all the nice comments. Riley and I are both doing very well currently.
Great to hear from you here! Glad to know things are well.
