True Religion
April 26, 2012
I recently saw an ad for a brand of clothing geared toward youth. It consists of blue jeans and all the accessories designed to go with them. There is nothing novel about that. What got my attention, however, was the name of this clothing line. It is called True Religion. That caused me to stop and think. Why was that name chosen? Am I missing some deeper significance? What is the connection between a brand of jeans and true religion? What do they mean by it? My musings left me with questions for which I had no answers.
I am thankful that the book of James is clear when describing true religion or true faith: Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world (1:27). That is refreshing. True religiongenuine faithis an expression of how we relate to our God. One evidence of our new identity in Christ is the way we care for one anotherreaching to the most frail and vulnerable among us, to those most in need of help.
True religion is not a garment to be taken on and off. It is a lofty challenge about how we live before a holy God and others.
True religion is to know The love that Christ imparts; True religion is to show His love to burdened hearts. D. De Haan
You dont advertise your religion by wearing a label
you do it by living a life.

Mornin’ Amy
Went to the VA clinic in Livermore on Tuesday. Got my hearing aids adjusted so I can hear conversations better. Also, I now have a Bluetooth that connects directly to my hearing aids along with sound from the television.
Prior to this, I could only hear parts of conversations on my cell phone. Now the sound comes into both aids. Fantastic!

Things previously considered sacred, are now used for the benefit of the purpose of the moment. To sell products, to reduce respect and consideration of religion, or faith in general. To minimize the effect of religion. It is a constant attack of Satan and happens daily, on going. We must held fast to our knowledge of God, commit as much as possible of the truths of the Holy Bile to memory. We may one day find Bibles outlawed and collected and burned.
It would not be for the first time. It happened before. We must be on guard and grow in our knowledge and faith, daily. Sounds ominous, right? Believe me, it is. How many things have happened in the last few years we would have said was impossible for the government, schools, look at California's new rules/laws on teaching education to children about homosexuals. Or Wisconsin seeking to oust the Governor Walker for the only true way to cut expenses there, etc. It is everywhere.
God help us, we have sinned, forgive us and show mercy to America, fill us with thy spirit, and grant us light in thee, in Jesus name, amen.

~Thoughtful Thursday~
Enjoy a wonderful day!
To: Diver Dave
That sounds wonderful, DD. Do you need the hearing aids to use Bluetooth or is there some way to use it with earplugs? MrJust needs hearing aids but he has been reluctant .. I wonder if there is a way to attach earplugs and Bluetooth to the TV..
I know that you are enjoying hearing complete conversations. When my Mom lost her hearing, she really missed hearing all that the great granchildren said.
Wishing you a beautiful day.

I’m so happy that you enjoyed Today’s Opener, GG. I’ve never read Gibran but I enjoyed this when Lori sent the graphic to me.
I enjoy starting each day with a pleasing graphic, a poem or a lovely story. It is so easy to get dragged into depressing stuff.
Have a Terrific Thursday.
