I vote for moon landing, a real one, not one faked on a historic (Fatty Arbuckle, Edna Purviance, Eric Campbell and others) Burbank movie lot.
No doubt World War 1 was considered “science fiction”, until IT HAPPENED.
No doubt the same for WW2.
So why do they consider the use of weapons that exist and a war on a scale that’s already happened twice science fiction?
When you can answer that question, you will prove (to at least me) that you UNDERSTAND liberals.
It now appears that that may happen not because robots become super intelligent but because humans are rapidly becoming dumber.
Thanks DogByte6RER.
If not restricted to movies, then “1984” by George Orwell; the other one that comes to mind would be a total takeover by the Borg.
Re the Manchurian Candidate. Oh, you mean that a brainwashed American becomes a secret communist tool and gains the presidency of the U.S.?
Never gonna happen.
Say what? It already has?
Time to move it from Scifi to “Reality TV”.
How the hell did the comrades slip that one by us?

None of it is going to happen so long as the current crop of idiots is in power--regardless of party. We are headed into a new Dark Age.
The Science Fiction imagery of the '50s and 60s was glory and grandeur, since then the images have been increasingly degeneration and apocalypse. The 'vision' of the future has shifted, and until it shifts to something more positive, the future won't be.
I'm still waiting for the affordable flying car and that free nuclear power generated electricity...
Don't worry, the Moller flying car is just around the corner, LOLOL!
Think I first read about it 48-50 years ago and I think they're still in business with no product to sell yet.
"The Mule" shows up.
Moonbase (China).
I’m thinking more like “Bladerunner.”
Going with the trifecta of-
Soylent green

Gator, you read my mind! That was the first thing I thought of when I saw the title. LOL
I absolutely, positively, 100% agree with that. At least once a week something happens that reminds me of Idiocracy.
