I know how much Freepers hate Romney,so hence my question
I pretty much gave up after McCain, but decided to give the GOP one last chance and they are failing BIG TIME.
Back when it was the Whigs and Dems, no one thought a 3rd party could rise, but it did. I think we need to make the GOP go the way of the Whigs.
As they stand currently the Rep. Elitist are too far into the Democrates side of the aisle trying to retain their lifestyle and the rest of what they desire...in co-operation with the Democrates who likely barter about this.
I’m just sick of broken glass Republicans who put party over principle.
No. I'm having flashbacks to after McCain clinched in 2008 and a bunch of "conservative" freepers were actually touting a McCain/Romney ticket (they went from being dead set against Rudy McRomney at the start of the primary to embracing the idea whole heartily post-primary).
Post 2008, it was like waiting up to photos of yourself dancing around drunkenly in woman's underwear and ask "WHAT was I thinking!?"
The existing field is weak enough to begin with, I don't see why freepers would want to stick the choices we have for a running mate. Don't push for this ticket guys, you'll regret it...
I agree with you. I’ve been flamed for saying/writing the exact same thing. Let the collapse happen completely on their watch, not when they have any ability to point the finger at us.
My only concern is the justices to be appointed to the USSC.
I understand completely. Paul is the only one who understands the evils of central banking. Unfortunately, he is pretty much a fool on all other accounts that are critical at the presidential level.
And we have to be realistic. Even if a third-party candidate could win the WH (very doubtful), the two teams of the two-party system would suddenly unite like never before to ensure that the third-party candidate could get nothing done and that no other third-party candidate would ever win again.
In other words, for a Paul type anti-Federal Reserve/central banker to win and for that candidate to be able to carry out the agenda necessary to destroy the Fed, we would need not only a WH, but a three-way split in both houses with that new third being of similar ideology.
I don’t see that happening anytime soon.
As others, I’m torn like never before with this coming election.
Check the post I just made. I agree, but they wouldn’t need to Fosterize (Arkanside) him. The RINOs and DemocRats would simply unite to prevent Newt from passing any of his agenda items. They would assure that the non-establishment candidate (and I’m not completely convinced that Newt is non-establishment knowing how he teamed up with Pelosi and is such an ardent supporter of anthropgenic global warming) could get nothing done and would blame the gridlock on that third-party/non-establishment politician.
Not only would this prevent the agenda from being fulfilled, it would intimidate any politician from trying to run on a non-Republican, non-Democrat ticket for probably the next four or five election cycles.
if Palin and Paul faction can merge. Our force would be much larger for a 3rd party run. Palin represent the anti-corruption/crony, anti-establishment wing of Conservatives while Paul represent the anti-Fed Liberatarian wing
[ Im not completely convinced that Newt is non-establishment ]
True.. He is such a whore.. but he not a Union traitor..
He may be a patriotic whore..
You gotta give it to the malefactors they give you a choice..
Obama or Santo or Willard.. different smells of the same sedition..
The strangest smell is Ron Paul.. they even give a “Goth” choice..
If Romney is the candidate we’re gonna want a much better (and younger so they can run in 2020 ) running mate than Gingrich.
I wouldn’t want Santorum to be Romney’s running mate either. Both men have negatives which is the last thing you want in a running mate. There are lots of great VP candidates (I wish 1 of them had run for President instead) it would foolish to choose any vanquished primary challenger (including Perry). The mere fact that they lost to Romney would prove their lack of appeal.
As for voting for Romney in the general, I’m aware Romney might be a RINO disaster like Bush but I want that piece of crap Obama gone, hearing his concession speech is one of my top fantasies and the only one that is likely to occur ( ;) ). Scalia is not a young man. A bad Republican might screw up a court nomination, Obama WOULD appoint a 45 year old Leninist and a Republican Senate would probably buckle under and confirm them.
I don’t think Romney is a liberal so much as I think he has no principles whatsoever.
In any case we can still stop him from getting the nomination but time is running out, there’s one conservative who can stop him and his name isn’t Newt.
Santorum/Walker or Santorum/Martinez.
Santorum/Martinez was Billyboy’s ticket months ago. Either is good with me. (Walker/Martinez would be ever better ;) )
Martinez would be good for the NM Senate race.
Walker would avoid Auh2orepublican’s no Protestant postulation. But I think the strength Martinez could bring with Hispanics and Women would more than cancel that out.
If the GOP wasn't the stupid establishment party, such pairings would be common sense and come in a heartbeat.
Newt won’t take VP from anyone, especially Romney.
But I can live with Romney over Obama, and Romney can help by picking a CONSISTENT conservative for the VP role. Rubio, maybe Allen West. Jim DeMint. How is Susannah Martinez doing (gov. of NM)?
No!
Nooo. And I bet you Newt wouldn’t do it either.
