He wins ....
If I’m gonna jump out of a perfectly good airplane/balloon - I insist upon seeing the ground. With my luck, there would be a mountain just under those clouds.
The Man Who Fell To Earth.
Now that’s just freaking awesome.
The ultimate “the first step is a doozy”.
He can seek all the records he wants, but all he’s going to find is those MPDVD things.
Be advised that whatever some tag said, the second picture of Joe Kittenger is public domain, not copyrighted, because it was taken with USAF (publicly owned) equipment and therefore never was copyrighted.
How do it know? Joe told me!
I don’t get it, the actual falling wasn’t filmed, there was no helmet camera? If I’m wrong point me to the video, if I’m right then this is no big deal, if it wasn’t filmed, it didn’t happen, period.
I remember Col. Kittinger’s jump in 1960, featured in the bottom photo. An incredible feat that still excites the imagination. I feel sorry for my kids. All they had were cartoon characters (”TO INFINITY AND BEYOND!”). Our “Buzz Lightyear” was the real deal, with the “Right Stuff.” God speed, Felix Baumgartner. God speed.
I am surprised that Kittinger’s record has held for this long - over fifty years, Eisenhower was still President and awarded Kittinger a Distinguished Flying Cross for the achievement.
Looks like fun...

You are free to post it from a website that has not issued us a copyright complaint, than.
Hope they clear the airspace below him. That would suck to land on top of a passenger jet.
Just because some site issues a complaint, that does not establish that they have a copyright. It is very typical to issue such a claim, even absent the validity of such a claim.
Here is a listing of a number of pictures.
Pick one you like.
Not just no but hell no...ping
You wouldn't mind if we don't believe everything you say, would you?
There was an incident several years back in northern Ohio in which sky divers jumped over some clouds and were clobbered by an airplane that was flying under the clouds. Never jump into a cloud; it may be full of rocks or airplanes.
