You all helped so quickly on my last musical challenge so here's another - a music video done circa 1990-1992 in film noir style that used vegetables and other food words to tell a story in the song - yes I've tried searching but again I'm terrible with names and titles .... Enjoy the challenge ( and likely making fun of me of course ;)
Gee I can’t even type my own name correctly ...
didn’t he just get pissed off because Rush or Sean used this song in a sarcastic way to describe that slut Fluke???
That was my first thought as well.
You have a GREAT memory, BHF!! I remember that video and your are right!
Actually, “Sledgehammer” came out in 1986.
That isn’t much of a surprise. Just points out what a BS hypocrite Gabriel is since that song is precisely describing SEX. I LAUGH that Rush had it playing.
Sorry that’s not it - the one Im thiniking of is black and white with the singer in a suit and hat Nearly every word seems to be a vegetable or fruit
Here’s one featuring fungi and a critter.

Oh, that’s a good one! I have not seen that video in so many years. Peter Gabriel—what a creative guy!
Peter Gabriel has withdrawn his permission for one of his songs to be used as “bumper” music by Rush Limbaugh.
As I remember, Gabriel was a 1-2 hit wonder and has disappeared from the music scene other than small venue stages. He won’t be missed.
This was a great example of when MTV had good artistic music videos, from Madonna (Like a Virgin and Express Yourself), Beat It (Michael Jackson) and the all time great “Thriller”, to Weird Al Yankovich’s “Eat It” and “Like a Surgeon”, the Cars “You Might Think”, and “Take Me Home” by A Ha (from about 1981 - 1992.
After that, rap music destroyed musical videos for a decade until Country/Western took over with “Tobey Keith” (What do you think about me now), “Tobey Keith and Willie Nelson” (Beer for My Horses), Brooks and Dunn (”Red Brick Road”, “Boot Scootin’ Boogy”), Keith Urban (A Girl Like You), and Brad Paisley, “The Fishing Song” and “”Celebrity” with William Shatner, Martina McBride “Concrete Angel”, Sara Evans “Suds in the Bucket”, and just about anything with Shania Twain.
Also can’t forget Kenney Chesney and Alan Jackson’s vacation songs, including “It’s 5 O’clock somewhere”, and other Jimmy Buffet-type videos.
Those were the good old days for kids raised in the 80’s. For us old-timers, it was film clips from “American Bandstand”, the Alan Freed movies (those with “Rock” in their titles”), “Beach Blanket Bingo” (we all loved Annette), and ELVIS, the KING movies.
Cute - my girls will like it except for the snake part ;)
That’s easy...

The Ross Sisters - Solid Potato Salad
Love his audition tapes, but no...
Sledgehammer - Peter Gabriel.
The “dancing chickens” were rather creepy.

Gabriel has had a 30 year career. Before going solo he was the lead singer for “Genesis”. All you need is a couple of hit records and you are financially set for life.
