Short Bus's Obama Birth Certificate Defense Is Officially ZOTTED
The Stir ^ | 3/2/12 | Sasha Brown-Worsham

Posted on 03/02/2012 9:17:36 AM PST by Short Bus

Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Arizona is bound and determined to make sure we never forget the embarrassment of the birther movement. Most of us would love to put that ugly little racist blip in our history -- a time when conspiracy theorists and fools alike accused President Barack Obama of not being American. But Arpaio, a sheriff in Phoenix, Arizona, just won't give it up.

Can we say beating a dead horse, people? Sometimes it seems like certain politicians just do things to help out Stephen Colbert, Jon Stewart, and Bill Maher. After all, how else does anyone explain Arpaio's inane and insane assertion that Obama, a man who produced his birth certificate last year, isn't American?

See his ranting [here].

"Forgery or fraud may have been committed," says Arpaio. Ooooh no! Are ghosts and goblins real, too, Sheriff Arpaio? How about the Loch Ness Monster? Do you go visit old Nessie on your days off from enforcing the laws of Arizona?

In all seriousness, this is vile racism plain and simple. In a place like Arizona, it's no surprise -- after all, many politicians there (including Arpaio) hold rather Draconian views on immigration -- and it's disgusting. And it's getting old fast.

For all you doubters for whom book learning was apparently a challenge, here are the facts: President Barack Obama was born in Honolulu on August 4, 1961. He has produced both a certificate of live birth during the 2008 campaign and the long-form certificate last year. Neither has been disproved.

So why is this still going on? Arpaio seems like a joke, but, according to Obama campaign spokesman Ben LaBolt, Republican Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney doesn't think so. Yesterday LaBolt tweeted:

Romney has called Arpaio for his endorsement, his aides called "weekly" and Arpaio was his honorary Chair in 08.
That's embarrassing. The fact is, most people agree Arpaio is a few cards shy of a full deck, but here we are still talking about him. Is this an alternate universe? Why am I guessing this guy is the type of person who stays at parties hours after they have ended asking for more chips and guacamole? Dude, the party is over, the ship has sailed, and you are beating a dead horse.

Sadly, there aren't enough cliched ways to say IT'S OVER to make it any clearer to this guy.

Y’know, you are absolutely correct about looking at scars. I personally am not the least concerned about my derriere. After all, it’s in back of me and I don’t have to look at it. (Evil laugh....)

The words carefully typed by MonkeyFace.

"So when I go this time, i will tell them to cut it the same length as the front. After all, I don’t have to look at the scar...;o]"

Maybe you should wear a hoodie. Hoodie ain't a real word. Maybe it is a wordie.

I wore a hoodie today. No one will mistake me for a sympathizer. It was wet and rainy here.

It was an extraordinary match. We desperately needed someone for two months, had a three month dead period, and then a full work schedule.

Her due date was an exact match. She seemed very bright and alert, understood English (didn’t speak it very well) and willing to work.

And work she did. Dropped the kid two hours after her shift ended on a Friday...

Aside from the backwardness of their transportation system, Elbonians seen ready to step into most work environments with surprising gratitude that there isn't any mud to slog through.

Seventeen years after the accident, I had surgery to relieve a deviated septum. After being told “don’t sneeze for three days,” I was obedient. But the first time I sneezed after the surgery was the first time in 17 years that I had a pain-free sneeze. THAT was worth the surgery! (Which was done at Davis-Monthan AFB in Tucson.)

Good morning, y’all! (Some Tennesseeans say you’uns, but other Tennesseeans say those Tennesseeans are closet Kentuckians.)

I had surgery to relieve a deviated septum and then I bent over to pet my girl Great Dane while she was getting up, she hit my face w/her very hard head—you get the picture. Then, at the gym, one of the cable pull handles was fastened unsafely, dropped on my nose, and broke it again.

Good morning, ladies! I’ve made it to my present age with no broken noses. Just good fortune, I suppose, although I expect having a Great Dane is a risk factor for many injuries ....

Raining here. Bill and Tom are getting a late start over to church to help with the annual cleanup. DP left before 7:00 to go sailing; maybe it’s not dead calm up at the lake.

I did that. My son had been with his gran or he would have been in the accident. When I finally got see him, I bent down to hug him at the same time he jumped up to hug me. Yep. His hard little head hit my tender nose. The good thing was that the nerves were dead (some still are) but I felt the pain through my sinuses.

Ironically, 15 years later, he was in a car accident and his nose was the one that was scrunched.
