“My contract does not prohibit me from endorsing, thank goodness,” Ms. Palin said. “So I’m just like 60 percent, 70 percent of Americans still trying to decipher who’s best.

Thought the above detail, was worth re-quoting.

Have seen a lot of speculation right here, about that.

Turns out, Palin can indeed endorse...

I hereby go on record formally endorsing Sarah Palin!

:D

Sarah’s smart for not endorsing anyone yet..seems like every few weeks there is a new “Frontrunner” no point in endorsing now. Also, silly question but what is a brokered convention. Ive heard people talk about it just don’t know what it is

Nothing like a brokered convention to help the GOP install someone more to their liking.

what is a brokered convention.

As I understand it, a brokered convention is when no one has enough committed delegates to win outright on the 1st ballot. After this, the delegates are free to support whomever, and it's major deal cutting time.

Nothing like a brokered convention where delegates I don’t know and didn’t vote for can fix the election for Romney or some other loser who they perceive as electable.

I heard the Paulbots also wanted to infiltrate the delegates’ ranks so they could all vote for Paul in the event of a brokered convention.

Wouldn’t that just be hilarious if they won that way?

As for Palin, I’m getting pretty sick of hearing just about nothing from her. She’s playing it safe because she doesn’t have the balls to p**s off Santorum supporters or Newt supporters depending on who she felt like endorsing. Quite frankly, if you aren’t willing to put yourself out there and fight for something, what the hell is the point of listening to you? Are we just going to keep listening to her tell us that she hasn’t yet made a decision, and that most people haven’t made a decision, so therefore let’s depress our political process even further with this continued farce of a nomination process and this false moral equivalency between the candidates?

Palin talks the talk, but she is way overrated. This is my conclusion after witnessing this stuff. I would say that the vast majority of “conservative” heroes and leaders are extraordinarily overrated and aren’t very good leaders or heroic at all. If anything, this has been the single biggest lesson for this farce of a nomination process we’ve gone through.

Pretty detailed explanation. It is possible by going that route for the establishment to screw us by putting in whom ever they want.

Hearing those people cheer when Romney was announced to be the winner shows me this is NO conservative event. How the hell can they cheer on a guy who said he is a progressive

It all depends on ‘who’ gets the nomination at a brokered convention. We all imagine our favorite Republican suddenly being handed the nomination by acclimation. Considering how hard the Republican elites have been pulling for Romney, how much harder would it be for them to rig a real “backroom deal” for their favorite candidate?

This thread explains what the Paulestinians are doing with delegates. Anyone can do this if you’re in a state where you can be selected as a delegate, so it’s in everyone’s interest to try and be a delegate and have your vote at the convention. There is a filter though, I think the state party ends up selecting a portion of the precinct delegates to go to the national convention. So it sounds like the establishment might try to put in delegates they know are loyalists to their cause and filter out any riff raff. The Ron Paul plot is a longshot plan for sure. I would say they’ll increase Ron Paul’s vote in a brokered convention but it’s highly unlikely they’d get enough votes to nominate him.

A brokered convention could be the only way someone OTHER than the establishment’s “selectee” (Romney) can become the nominee to run against the most radical president in our lifetimes.

Romney is easily the most liberal of the bunch at the moment, so a coalition of delegates who are conservative, lean conservative and conservative-moderate could have the best hand to defeat the establishment RINOS (after the initial ballot).

You won’t get the “most conservative” in that kind of process, but you would get a “more conservative” candidate than you will without a brokered convention, imo.

Put another way, the establishment GOP has a better chance of getting their way if we DON’T have a brokered convention. Let’s not be afraid of a brokered convention, folks.

Well, that knocks down that one at least — the one where she “endorsed” Newt Gingrich the best she could under her contract.

Now it turns out, She really WAS specifically NOT endorsing Newt when she told people to vote for him. She ACTUALLY MEANT WHAT SHE SAID. I find she does that, and admire her for it.

It never ceases to amaze me how many “Sarah Palin Supporters” spend their time here telling us how she doesn’t really mean what she said, and then they tell us what she REALLY meant. And it always turns out she actually meant what she said.
