what is a brokered convention.

As I understand it, a brokered convention is when no one has enough committed delegates to win outright on the 1st ballot. After this, the delegates are free to support whomever, and it's major deal cutting time.

Oh so it’s like when there is no clear winner so the delegates can go elsewhere if they choose..WOW just heard how Romney won the straw poll..GROSS

Could it be also where the candidates then buy their votes from the delegates?
