The Kendall County Sheriff's Department has launched an internal investigation into an alleged incident involving an off-duty deputy pulling a gun on a pregnant woman in a Walmart express lane.
Just one week from her due date, Nicole Thurmond said she feared for her life while checking out at a Walmart store in Oswego on a recent Sunday.
"I felt someone close behind me. He started being really rude and said, 'Don't you know how to count? You are holding up the whole store," Thurmond recalled.
Thurmond said she didn't know it at the time, but the man in plain clothes was off-duty deputy Craig French.

Stupid headline. There was one and not two pregnant women in the situation.

Poor off duty deputy? This guy pulled a gun in public, in a store full of people...For what?
For a minor squabble at the checkout, the husband sees his pregnant wife is upset, sees a person who turns out to be a deputy whom he alleged "was in her face, yelling at her, in an aggressive manner, he steps toward him and the husband pushes back to keep him away"
The term, "Overreacting" would be the glaring understatement of the month.
I note the citizen is facing charges for pushing the off-duty officer.
When are they ever considered just another citizen behaving as a goon?

I'd love to do a poll...if it was a Crip in line in back of this lady, would she have gotten more courtesy, or less? ;^)
Well, I know what the stupid headline was about, i.e., political correctness. Referring to a “pregnant couple” is just plain ridiculous; the couple can be said to be “expecting”, but it is only the woman who is pregnant.
OTOH, in the pic, he looks closer to term than she does. (Oooh, not nice, Bigg Red. Lots of men gain a few pounds when the wife is expecting.)
