Mafia ? (Il zotto di pazzo)

Posted on 02/01/2012 3:44:24 PM PST by chrismac

It might be connected with the strange goings on around here : Our car stolen, with $4000 of damage; Our neighbour's healthy rabbit dying unexpectedly; Our neighbour's letterbox being destroyed; Curious spam emails about las vegas; The odd curious phone call; Faeces being smeared on our church Car windows smashed and things taken at church - they now have patrols as a result Breakin at church and organ damaged. Mysterious deaths of stars, such as Heath Ledger, Brittany and her husband, Michael Jackson, David Carradine, and others : http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2010/05/24/what-killed-brittanys- husband.html http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/31103217/ns/today-entertainment/t/david- carradine-found-dead-thailand-hotel/

Connect the dots if you dare, to see the truth.

Good explanation as usual TC.

We cry because we don't like the loss/change.

But then, isn't that selfish on our parts?

The girl who comes in second in Miss America cries.
Is that because she wished she had won? ;-)
Maybe some people cry because they are not chosen to go home.

I don't believe it is wrong to be homesick, every once in a while. :-)

Then, I just gotta tell you. ;-)

Why do people cry when loved ones die?

You cry because the person is no longer a part of your daily life, just as you might cry because a friend has moved away, even if she's going to marry a really nice man and live in a great place. The present loss *to you* is still real, even if you are absolutely certain it's the best thing for the person who has left you.

Thanks, TC for writing what I could not for the tears I still shed, missing my Sionnar. Nearly 32 years (more than half my life) I spent married to a wonderful human being with whom I was privileged to be one flesh - and many times, one mind and one heart. The loss is deep, painful and very real and not easily overcome with thoughts of rest, peace and the heavenly joy he received through his faith in Christ (not through any works of his own - to that that he would surely testify).

Like you, I wept when I saw Nancy Reagan stroking her beloved Ron's casket - oh, how I know her grief!!!! Compassion is born of suffering - it makes us able to help others bear their burdens for a while, walking alongside as did Simon of Cyrene.

Fan, believe me, there are days I want to go join Sion. I thank God today is not one of them. I am happy for him, but sad for me and for our daughters who were deprived of him for most of their lives, and for the grandchildren who will never know him or call him "Popop!"

Those fractured Christmas carols come from Walt Kelly’s old comic strip, Pogo.

It’s Pamlico Sound Sea Camp; I think it’s a Fayetteville Council facility. Sailing and kayaking is planned, as far as I know. They’re going the first week of July.

isn't that selfish on our parts

In a way. All our feelings are found "in the self," and it's a very rare person (and most likely faking it) whose emotions are entirely under the control of the rational faculties. To me, it seems that if a person doesn't have any sense of deprivation, it's likely that he wasn't very close to the person who died.

At the death of a sick, elderly relative whom one knew slightly, one might genuinely feel only gratitude that he was part of your life to some extent, and relief that he is relieved from suffering and returns to the Lord. However, at the death of a child, or a beloved spouse, too much detachment is very strange.

From St. Paul onward, the saints have written about Christian grief, and recognized that it can coexist with Christian hope. St. Paul said not to grieve "as those who have no hope," but he didn't say not to grieve. It's impossible not to feel the loss of a loved one, and the better the person was, the greater the loss.

Prayers, please: our Jake is missing (the brown tabby cat, for those who don’t keep a record of my family members). He’s stayed out 24 hours before, but never over a second night. It was in the 20s last night, too.

I’ll be sending the Offspring out to look for him (again) later.

It took me years to work up the gumption to write a poem about losing a cat.

Let’s hope it doesn’t apply.

Are Doritos better firestarters than dry leaves and laundry lint? (We only do fires in the outdoor fire pit.)

Knock on doors. Idiot cat probably forgot which house he lives in.
You should really get both of them collars.

Good. Have you got your radio working? Not that you’re going anywhere, I guess, but you could play it in your quarters.

Did you see on the NC board that we’ve all been moved to new Congressional districts? It’s going to be interesting!

Thanks! In addition to liking him pretty well, we’ve spent money on that kitteh!

I think Shannon knows something. She’s looking smug. Paging Dr. Lightman to trick the senior cat into telling us the truth ...

Hopefully I will be getting an apartment soonish. I have to get some paperwork signed.
Shannon can still come live with me and be the Only Cat.
