It is really boring.
Colton’s outfit is horrible, too. It just emphasizes how thin he is. I like thin guys (Adrien Brody is my pretend boyfriend of the moment), but in the all black he looked like an exclamation point.

It's okay, I guess.
J-Lo: I didn't know that song, so it's a Colton song to me. You did that really really well. And you look pretty when you sings.
Steven: I think it was the wrong song for your voice. (audience boos loudly) Raspberries! I didn't feel the song going anywhere. [I agree]
Randy: This is a case to me that the song choice didn't matter. I like this guy.

I think the predecessor explains the antecedent. The 90s were a complete musical wasteland. Us late Gen-Xers liked the 90's well enough. Most of us don't define the decade by the Top 40 list, though. And that's where these kids seem to be stuck.
