Keep in mind that Gatlinburg is only about 10 miles or so from Pigeon Forge Tennessee. Pigeon Forge is a mega tourist trap with many places with entertainment, dinner and shows. Dolly Wood is there and Lee greenburg also has such a place.
The girl in question is almost certain to be a backup singer in a show in one of those places.
Also there is the Great Smokey Mountains National Park. Woods and camping is the theme. My guess it was a hoax

It just seems odd to me that her MIL would buy her an outfit for the show, but they don’t have a couch the couple can crash on or know of a church that can help them out? There is more to this story.
