Endorsements from George W. Bush and Sarah Palin would have the biggest impact on Republican voters, trumping the support from other GOP figures such as John McCain and Donald Trump, according to a poll Friday.

The majority of Republican and Republican-leaning voters said in a Pew Research Center survey that endorsements from six prominent GOP figures — Bush, Palin, McCain, Trump, Herman Cain and Michele Bachmann — would make no difference in their vote.

But of the six political figures listed, an endorsement from Bush was found to have the most positive impact on voters, with 28 percent saying they would be more likely to vote for a candidate who garnered the former president’s backing. He was followed by Palin, whose endorsement was shown as swaying 23 percent of GOP voters to choose the candidate supported by the former Alaska governor.

Bush and Palin also were found to have the weakest negative impact on GOP voters — 11 percent said a Bush endorsement would make them less likely to vote for a candidate, while 15 percent said the same for Palin.....

Answers a question from the other day. But, I expect GWB won’t endorse the (R) candidate until the general election. And, Gov Palin, who’s clearly stated on several occasions that her candidate is ABO (anyone but Obama) won’t endorse until late in the primary.

I’d remember when Reagan endorsed and stumped for Ford after the 1976 convention.

And boy, did he get grief for that in some quarters! I still remember the arguments with my family and relatives during that time.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1976_Republican_National_Convention

“Reagan endorsed Ford after his defeat, and gave an eloquent and stirring speech that overshadowed Ford’s own acceptance address. Some delegates later stated that they left the convention wondering if they had voted for the wrong candidate. A contemporary media account stated that if a motion to reconsider the nomination had been in order, it might have passed.”

an endorsement from Bush was found to have the most positive impact on voters

Polsters know what poll results will sell and make them money.

Sarah, your country NEEDS you. We can honor your decision to not run for this office yourself, but a Mitt Romney nomination will be a DISASTER!!!

You can turn this primary process into a victory for Conservatives!

PLEASE schedule a visit to SC and strongly endorse and campaign for Newt Gingrich.

Newt can defeat Obama, AND he will REVERSE the Obama nightmare.

Romney has a HISTORY of supporting abortion, gay-marriage, higher taxes, and ObamneyCare.

Romney will be easily defeated by Obama, and he would NOT reverse Obama's policies.

PLEASE Sarah, help us win back this country!!!
