Conor, I know you missed it as it was late Sunday evening when I posted it. I had a very scary thing happen to me as I was on my way to meet my family at the restaurant for a New Year’s Eve Dinner. You can check it out if you care to at post #135.

A tire with rim intact! That would certainly be scary! You were fortunate to have a nice policeman come along to assist you.

During the job of taking down the Christmas Decorations, Mr. Border Collie discovered that not only were the lights made in China and not UL Approved, but the house was not wired to code. He has endeavored to rectify the situation and will report back in the morning.

dang what a story. I hope the cop would not get in trouble if you write “thanking him”... he shouldn’t IMHO but nowadays with the liberal and or legalistic factions one never knows
I am sure you were shook up big time

The Pursuit
January 3, 2012
When my husband, Carl, pursued a relationship with me while we were dating, he was serious about it. He called. He wrote notes. He asked thoughtful questions. He bought me flowers, candy, books, dinner, and other gifts. He spent a lot of time and effort in his pursuit of me.
Way back in the 10th century bc, Solomon recommended that kind of serious commitment when pursuing something elsewisdom. A dictionary definition of wisdom, understanding what is true, right, or lasting, sounds crucial if we want a life that glorifies our holy God.
Maybe thats why Solomon used so many active verbs in Proverbs 2 to describe our needed efforts to gain wisdom. He said, incline your ear, apply your heart, cry out, lift up your voice, seek her, search for her (vv.2-4).
Seeking wisdom takes effort, and Scripture tells us where it can be found: For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding. He isnt storing up wisdom for Himself; He stores up sound wisdom for the upright (vv.6-7).
Seek God with all your heart. He is the source of all wisdom for your life.
What will it profit when life here is oer,
Though great worldly wisdom I gain,
If seeking knowledge I utterly fail
The wisdom of God to obtain? Nelson
You can acquire much knowledge,
but true wisdom comes only from God.
Read: Proverbs 2:1-9
. . . seek [wisdom] as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures.
Proverbs 2:4

Mornin’, JC. I just saw on FNC that Eastern TN is covered with that ‘white stuff’, and they have even had to open up shelters for stranded motorists! Hope you stay in - and safe!

Yes, everything is white this morning and its a very cold 19. I had a hair appt. but will not go out. That can wait. Its the cold I hate more than the snow. I’ll call my girl in a few minutes and stay tucked in today! How’s everything in your part of the country?

Outside In
No matter how snug your cabin,
Theres one thing you still must do.
Build it right, and chink it tight,
And always leave a view.
A ball and inevitable chain,
A sense of discomfort youve kept away,
As seen through your own windowpane.
The best room is always the one where you live,
And the fireplace makes it so warm,
But you must have a window to see the outside,
As you all snuggle safe from the storm.

Thank you for the wonderful birthday greetings. I appreciate them and you.
If I had planned to forget my birthdays, I should have removed my name from your lists. :)
Thank you for all you do.
