For the past year I have experienced increasing lower back pain. The doctors traced the pain to a pinched nerve between the L4/L4 vertebrae and ultimately to two ruptured disks. So far I have made it without narcotics.
Tomorrow I will have surgery to correct the ruptured disks. The good news is that the surgeon thinks he can fix the problem and not just ease the pain. The bad news is that he says the recovery period is a full twelve weeks. The first two weeks I will mostly be in bed lying flat. Other than that, I must wear a back brace. No travel at all for the first two or three weeks even if I am riding in a car and not driving.
If you would be so kind, I ask your prayers for a successful surgery and relief from the back pain.
Since then I have tried never to miss a prayer request thread.

Loving Father, I entrust myself to your care this day; guide with wisdom and skill the minds and hands of the medical people who minister in your Name, and grant that every cause of illness be removed, I may be restored to soundness of health and learn to live in more perfect harmony with you and with those around me. Through Jesus Christ. Amen.
Father God..I ask for Your healing arms to surround this man. Giude his surgical team to repair his body and make it whole again. Be with him Father during his recovery as well...in Jesus’ precious name....Amen.

Prayers for a full recovery Loney! My son ruptured a disc in his back so I know, sort of, what you are going through. It took awhile but he is pain free - my sincere prayer for you to get there too!
