Shale energy is a hot topic lately. But discussion of this brand of fossil fuel is as unwelcome at the family dinner table as religion and politics due to its controversial nature.
A new study published by PricewaterhouseCooper titled Shale Gas: A Renaissance In US Manufacturing provides new ammunition for those who are pro shale.
According to the study, full-scale development of shale gas development through 2025 would generate a staggering $11.6 billion in annualized cost savings by reducing natural gas expenses.

Furthermore, the industry would create over 1.1 million jobs over that period.

It is NOT “fossil” fuel.
B.S. Chemical Engineering, U of Minn, 1979.
I like this story. There’s hope. If we get rid of Obama.
What is it??
It doesn’t matter how intelligent you are or your “cred”.
They FEEL it is a “fossil fuel”. XD
Plenty of available fuel scares the bejeebers out of politicians who want to “allow” the “right” kind of energy, supplied by the “right” kind of suppliers. Cost that leaves many suffering is of no consequence.
It's welcome at my dinner table along with politics and religion.
A free Stimulus Program that WILL create Jobs and Tax revenues UNLIKE the DEMOCRATS plans.
When I started my career in oil & gas exploration in the early 1980’s US production was in terminal decline. I remember how I hated to admit/confirm to relatives that US exploration efforts could not replace production, and that our only practical means of achieving domestic energy sufficiency was through nuclear.
Today it is very satisfying to know that we (the domestic oil & gas industry) actually possess the means to end US dependency on imported oil.
God bless the USA!

Yes, we have the MEANS. But do we have the WILL to do it? That’s another question.... Otherwise why is the Keystone Pipeline so controversial when it need not be?
By using Liquified Natural Gas instead of diesel in long-haul trucks, we can save a lot on imported oil, plus reducing our dependence on oil for transport.
Then why does Sinclair have a green dinosaur? Hmmmmmmm? :-)
nobama!
Calcium Carbonate (chalk) + Iron Oxide (rust) + Hydrogen Dioxide (Water) under great heat and pressure approximately 60 km below the surface of the earth produces hydrocarbons (Natural Gas and Petroleum).
Dead dinosaurs and dead plants are NOT involved.

What accounts for various qualities and gravities of crude oil ?
If you can convince the masses that “fossil” fuel will eventually run out, then you can create the perception of a shortage of supply and therefore increase (or maintain) the price.
In truth, we are swimming in carbon based fuels.
This technology is a GLOBAL game-changer. If allowed, it means a dramatic shift in global patterns and politics.
It means... CHEAP, PLENTIFUL oil and Gas for the next 20-40 years.
Thus:
1) It CANNOT be allowed by the green-weenie political types,
2) It CANNOT be allowed by the fragile oil-economy governments that depend on petro-dollar for survivial.
Obama will ban it and the Chavez will start a war to drive up prices.
