NY Woman Uses Dating Site to Get Over $1200 In Free Meals

A New York woman is being scrutinized and praised after people learned that she used a dating website to obtain $1,200 a month in free meals.

According to Business Insider, 23-year-old Jessica Sporty was deep in debt. Sporty had difficulties living on her $45,000 annual salary after spending nearly $1,500 a month in rent, paying her credit card bill, and buying food.

So she hatched up a plan and signed up with the popular online dating site Match.com so she could quickly go on five dates a week. Sporty even maintained a spreadsheet with detailed information on each of her dates, limiting each guy to a maximum of five.

Dates took Sporty to high-end New York restaurants, and one of her dates even bought her a $200 bottle of champagne.

“Before I barely had enough money to pay for food,” said Sporty. “After using Match.com I found I wasn’t going into debt anymore.”

-snip-

As of today, Sporty is no longer on the dating website as she is currently in a relationship and most likely freeloading off her new beau.

“It was exhausting,” she said. “I needed my sleep and I was done playing the game.”

Birthday cake, even a Tom Production, is probably tastier than Toasted Pat ;-).

Ah, tempus fugit. I need to collect a few copies and get off to Spanish choir practice!

I forgot that I have at least seven pairs of Christmas socks, so I’m going to be playing catch-up for the nexr few days, trying to get all of them worn...

It was 41 when I stepped out to check on yesterday’s mail, here, but there was enough of a breeze to make me wear my new headband/earwarmer. Ayiii...I hate the cold!

60 and sunny. Jake’s sunbeam has moved away, but Shannon’s and Ash’s are in full force. DP and I went out to lunch after choir practice, since we were there in Monroe at lunchtime anyway. It’s nice to eat with nobody yelling at me, and now I can stay in the recliner instead of having supper.

Now I’m taking some Offspring to the library, with a stop at the bank to make a deposit.

Sunbeans are good to have. Jesus said so...”Jesus wants me for a sunbean...”

I suspect I’m going to lie low tomorrow. Right now, I’m having chills, which means I’m not doing well. Bed rest seems to be the thing that takes the least amount of effort.

Good ON ya for have a lunch date with your Sweetie!

Tomorrow morning early may be a good time for making cookies.

OOH! OOH! OOH! I found some refrigerated cinamon rolls with chocolate frosting, yesterday!!!! I’ll bet you can’t guess what Christmas breakfast will be...;o]

“Maybe we’ll go to the library later:” Do you have access to a digital public library? I use a few of them (no charge, no late fees, no trips back and forth.)

No library clerk looking down the length of your nose as if to say, “How DARE you touch our books?!”

Does a digital public library have physical books? I require physical books.

We pay an annual fee to Mecklenburg County library because we don’t life in the county limits, but it’s worth it for the amount of use we get. Our own county library system is not as well-stocked. We have a lot of online services available, but we do have to drive there to pick up and return books.

The digital libraries I use have ebooks, audiobooks, music, movies, etc. that you can download and keep for a period of time. I download audiobooks and listen to them on my iPod while I do chores. I download ebooks in Adobe EPUB format so that I can read them on my Kobo. If you require hard copy, I’m afraid digital libraries are for you.

I like a book on CD sometimes, especially if I’m going to be on a long drive or have major cooking projects planned, but physical books are my main source of everything.

We get movies from Netflix with the streaming video thingie, so it’s rare for me to get one at the library these days. Before we had Netflix, I got most of my BBC-tv shows on DVD at my local county library, where we could check out for a week.

Sounds like you have a good system. I prefer digital because I’m so old. I live in the boondocks so digital saves me many library trips.
