I think the Tea Party will have succeeded if they can get a true conservative on the ticket as VP and elect more conservatives to the House and Senate.

I agreee. Primary defeats of people like Snowe and getting a GOP majority in the Senate while getting a veto-proof majority in the House would be more effective than whoever gets to be POTUS, including Obama.

But if NOOT or Willard is the answer, someone is asking the wrong questions.

Now that you mention it, maybe that would end up serving the people better than simply one truly conservative person, even if that person is President. It’s much harder for the MSM to throw a wrench in the works that way.

I feel better already.

A half a victory is better than none, right? What if the Tea Partiers go third party?

Agreed! An increasingly conservative Congress (and increasingly conservative state governments) can slap a RINO in the snout when they want to dance with their liberal side.

I tend to think of Bush/McCain/Kennedy and their amnesty attempt. We burned up the phone lines and internet and stopped that from happening. That was before the Tea Party, and now Obama has so turned off the independents that I must believe the ranks of Tea Party sympathizers have swelled to where a Congress that is an effective block to the presidency is possible.

Unfortunately, elected “Tea Party” conservatives who do not have original ideals of reform and organized resistence to the continued financial shake down of the country, our freedom and the corruption of both parties, do us no good.

Hearing the Tea Party darling Allen West fight like a mad dog against conservatives on behalf of the Rino’s Super Committee sham demonstrates that electing people who claim to be conservative with their mouth, but who are unprepared intellectually for reform, is a fool’s errand.

Like West, Newt talks conservative. He is not a conservative reformer in thought and action.

If we’re going to start redefining success down, we’ve failed no matter who we nominate.
