Excitement turned to pain after a man suddenly received a shotgun blast to the buttocks while bird hunting with several companions Sunday.
Pipper the yellow labrador was the triggerdog behind the blast the sent his 46-year-old hunting companion to the hospital. Somehow, caught up in the excitement of the hunt, Pipper set off the shotgun that struck Brigham City native Robert Cottingham in the lower back and buttocks.

That’s why they put a safety on a shotgun.
I went bird hunting with a friend once who took the safety off when he got to the field, I got back in the car and left.
As a VEGAN to bad the dog wasn’t aiming higher.
Yep, he definitely should have put the safety on.
In addition, the dog needs more range time. Not giving a dog sufficient range time is just criminal. :-)

Don’t think the dog is a vegan. Think he shots and eats meat.
Is that the best you can do. Can’t stand the reality that someone doesn’t live by your rules. To bad your sensitivity level is somewhere in the gutter where you live.
As an omnivore, it’s too bad you can’t be more respectful of differing views.
As a vegan... Do you think that animals should be vegan too? Does it bother you when a lion eats a gazelle in Africa? What are you doing to stop that?
Nature is nature, whether it is a cat eating a bird or a lion eating a gazelle. I prefer not to eat animals or abuse them. Maybe you should try to be more respectful the next time you look at your diner plate and think of the suffering that the animal you are about to eat went through before it wound up on your plate. Oh I forgot, let’s bury that as most humans can’t face it. Also, maybe he should be more respectful of my differing views. Personally, I don’t give a crap of what you think of me as a VEGAN as I live my life the way I choose. Those here on FR practically demand that you think like them or you are a freak. So tell me, what is so free about FR.
All of my dogs are VEGAN and they love it. As an experiment, I placed a piece of meat in their bowl along side of a pile of sweet potatoes. Can you guess what they went for, if you choose the meat you are wrong.
Whenever I need a good laugh, I go to Free Republic and type VEGAN in the search engine.
Of course, you’re free to do as you wish.
But to pretend that your dogs are vegan, is animal abuse. I really don’t care what you choose to do to yourself. But to inflict that on an animal that trusts you to provide for them is unconscionable.
