Wouldn’t have anything to do with the government paying for it in the first place would it? I hear it is also a great fuel source for garage fires.

I thought it got about 20mpg after you did the coal to gas conversion. That’s pretty crappy for a golf cart.

That certainly explains it’s marketing success!

Well, that’s certainly putting a positive spin on a failing idea.

My son’s 9 volt RF Monster Truck he got from Radio Shack is more fuel efficient - and you won’t see one of those on the freeway either.

In high school I drove the family car all the time and never ever ever had to fill it up. I always got over 50 mpg. Always.

This was in the 1980's.

Not when the weather is 20 degrees. Battery capacity is cut in half.

Government Motors being praised by another government agency. How cute and utterly corrupt!

Technicalities aside...just saw one in a dealer showroom recently. I was looking at it from the front/side. I did remark to the person I was with that it looked like it was gas pedal down, foot on the brake, getting ready to leap. I’ve seen cars that look “fast”, but the Volt looks ready to “leap”. Power-train aside, a great looking vehicle.

I have a 1977 Ford pickup with a 460 engine that is more fuel efficient...it hasn’t run in over 10 years and has not used any fuel. I think what should be asked is what vehicle is most effective in getting people from point A to B in a reasonable period of time with a minimum of operator actions.

I disagree with the choice of the Volt.

This sand sculpture looks almost like a car (same as the Volt, which also resembles a real car). The sculpture has used no fuel at all, which puts it ahead of the Government Motors product. Finally, the sculpture is safer than the GM junker. Even ignoring the detail that Volt is manufactured by a corrupt organization that stiffed its rightful debtors when it defaulted on the bondholders to pay off Obama & Pelosi's cronies in the UAW, the Detroit product falls well short of the one from the beach artist (Pavel Zadanyuk).

Of course. I doesn’t run, so it just sits there. Zero energy used. Makes a great flower bed!

53 mpg

1978 VW Rabbit diesel

no federal or state subsidy

free market principles made this a very popular car in the USA

My family had one and we always got over 50 mpg in real life.
