In high school I drove the family car all the time and never ever ever had to fill it up. I always got over 50 mpg. Always.

This was in the 1980's.

And I lived in blizzard country and the heater worked quite nicely even when it was -10 outisde.

My boss had one of those VWs in the day. He had to turn the AC off when he wanted to pass someone or go up a significant hill. LOL

Honda made a neat version of the CRX called the CRX HF back in the last 80’s that got 40+ MPG using that “ancient” gasoline motor technology and without taxpayer funding.

I owned a 1980 Rabbit Diesel. I have also owned Corvettes.

I miss my Rabbit the most.
