Its been almost two years since I posted at Big Hollywood regarding the Top 10 Most Overrated Directors of All Time. Ive had a chance to reflect and think about the crimes I committed in that post. And, to paraphrase Mr. Eko from the greatest TV show of all time, Lost, I ask no forgiveness because I have committed no sin except leaving Spike Lee and Tim Burton off the list, that is.
So, because you all enjoyed that list so much, and because I apparently have a death wish, its time for another: The Top 10 Most Overrated Actors/Actresses of All Time

Don’t have time to read it but I assume Richard Dreyfus is on it.
The best actors are either Jean Claude Van Dam or Chuck Norris.
Before even reading the list I can tell you numbers 1-10: Meryl Streep. It is amazing she has stayed as thin as she has with all the scenery she has chewed up over the years. The word “overrated” is underrated for her over the top “acting.”
Gary Cooper (even though he stars in many of my favorite movies)
Little Ben Shapiro is going to take some major heat for this one. Bill Murry? Come On! Didn’t he see Zombieland?
Blasphemer! Heretic! :)
As an example of an underrated actor I would go with Val Kilmer.
Come to think of it, if you look at the whole cast of “Tombstone” you can find a whole range of acting abilities.
Who can stand the smarmy little Lib but: his Dr. Leo Marvin in What About Bob is sensationally accurate.
I have Brad Pitt fatigue. I just won’t rent a movie or go to a show with him or his statuesque wife, AJ.
Most of those on the list are considered to be great actors/actresses, but I’m not sure Clooney or DiCaprio would be considered among the great. They’re just nice looking.
You must be a guy.
Why are there nine men and only one woman? Just because the author is a guy?
I don’t find much to argue with there, except for Spencer Tracy. I don’t think he was a brilliant actor, but he was so much more skilled than most of the stumps reading lines these days. “Oh, which blank-faced ‘eternal youth’ was that, again?”
She’s actually an amazing actress. I cannot believe how she becomes the characters. It is really incredible. I mean when you think that she literally became Margaret Thatcher that is saying something. She literally became Julia Childs.
In their stead should have been Kevin Spacey, Jane Fonda and Tom Cruise.
I thought she was good in “The Devil Wears Prada,” not that the role was a stretch or anything.
Watched the Tourist last weekend in our little office while going through e-mail. What was AJ doing. It looked like one big clothes modeling session.
I actually thought George Clooney would have been number one. Two of the biggest yawners in Hollywood (both on and off screen) are Meryl Streep and George Clooney...imho:/
No one seems to have the talent of Gene Kelly, Ray Bolger, or Dick Van Dyke anymore.
I thought Clooney was good in “Michael Clayton”.
