Its been almost two years since I posted at Big Hollywood regarding the Top 10 Most Overrated Directors of All Time. Ive had a chance to reflect and think about the crimes I committed in that post. And, to paraphrase Mr. Eko from the greatest TV show of all time, Lost, I ask no forgiveness because I have committed no sin except leaving Spike Lee and Tim Burton off the list, that is.
So, because you all enjoyed that list so much, and because I apparently have a death wish, its time for another: The Top 10 Most Overrated Actors/Actresses of All Time

probably not acting, just naturally scary

I forgot about him.
I wholeheartedly agree with that. I liked him much better as a comedic actor than as a dramatic one. I did like him in “Forrest Gump” pretty well though.
Big What About Bob fan here and Dreyfus’s straight man to Bill Murray’s funny man was perfect.
Before even reading the list I can tell you numbers 1-10: Meryl Streep.
= = = = =
She only made number two. Nicholson was number one and the way the guy explained it, it makes total sense.
I am not sure about Hepburn and Tracey but he does have very valid points about them.
Alec Baldwin should be on that list.
Liked him in Hunt for Red October. He’s funny on TV, and scary in real life.
One of Nicholson’s best movies is The Last Detail by Hal Ashby.
Elvis should have been on the list. But then again does anybody consider him an actor?
Well, I am shocked. I actually agree with this list and the things mentioned in it.
Good actors are hard to come by, and it seems really that England puts more of them out there with much less said over them. Hollywood loves to brag.
He gets in just for The Blues Brothers. Trading Places and Ghostbusters qualify him, too. After that, his role selections (or offers) were poor, to say the least.
So who is Ben Shapiro and why should I respect his opinion on best actors and actresses?
Where is Julia Roberts on this list?
Have to admit, Murray was awesome in Zombieland.
..same with Clooney.
I have to agree with the writer that Nicholson is at best one-dimensional (though not bad in Chinatown) and very overrated; he’s annoying to listen to. The most overrated actor in my view, however, was Humphrey Bogart; he always looked old, decrepit and not particularly true to life in whatever role he had.
I put in the wrong link. Here’s the one I’d intended.

Great list -specially Hepburn, Hanks and Nicholson.
Clooney is not even a actor. Listing him as an ‘overrated actor’ is a compliment.
Examples of truly great actors: Bette Davis and Joseph Cotten.
