Old people (over 85) die when...They go to hospital for a minor procedure and get an infection....bewareAmen! Learn it, remember it, because they don't have a sign out front saying "Elder Processing."

I liked the Joe Piscopo version better.
"Did you ever notice that there are no Nazis named 'Steve'?"
"And what kind of name is Morley? Is that the opposite of Leslie?"

“I remember a 60 Minutes where he took issue with the Ten Commandments. I hope that in the interveening years he changed his mind and heart.”
He was an avowed atheist to the end. Never found him very funny or amusing. But R.I.P. anyway.

“Do you ever notice how some people just can’t handle retirement? I do. It seems like one minute they’re getting a gold watch and saying their goodbyes and the next minute they just drop dead. It’s almost like the stress of having nothing to do all day was just too much for them...”

As a retiree, I assure you we have plenty to do ... maybe not ‘all day’, but plenty to do.

Morley /Leslie! That is the most classic one. Every time I heard Morley, I thought to myself “opposite of Leslie” but forgot where it came from

Because he was a WWII vet I gave him a little slack. Otherwise he was just another liberal geezer at most.

Did he come to Christ at the end?
Or remain a bitter communist?
To: sodpoodle
Exactly.
Bill Clinton has had one hobby that has kept him alive.

At the time, I’d heard of Morley Safer, but I didn’t know who Leslie (Lesley?) Stahl was (or that she was on 60 Minutes, which I didn’t watch).

Like Cain says, "America needs to learn how to take a joke." Perhaps you should share your feelings about this forum with Jim?

First law of regression analysis: Correlation is not causation. It may be that people who work into their 80’s only retire when their health deteriorates to the point where they can no longer work.
To: SMGFan; Tanniker Smith
Rooney really didn't like that impression. He was interviewed about it at the time and he referred to Joe Piscopo using an obscenity that had to be bleeped. That was my first inkling that Rooney was a really nasty guy.
Rest In Peace, Andy. You did good work in WWII.
