Good morning gardeners. I hope all of you are doing well this first week in November. Daylight Saving Time officially ends in the U.S. and Canada, at 2 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 6th, when clocks are moved back one hour. We have had some nice weather with lows in the mid to high 30’s and up into the mid 60’s for highs the last couple of days. Forecasts are calling for lows in the 40’s with Highs in the low 70’s for the next week.

I hope all your Fall gardens are prospering.

Hey thanks for that link. One of the brewers said he could drink his home brew after ten days of fermentation. He must be Kegging his beer and carbonating it in the keg buy way of CO2 under pressure. Keg equipment is just a little to expensive for this homebrewer so it takes quite a bit longer for me to get my beer to a drinkable stage - more than a month or more.

It’s SNOWING here. Too early, too early.

My son used to make beer, but then he married a Baptist and had to give away all of his home brewing equipment.

Note reply above. It’s SNOWING here. ucky that they got my front door in this weekend. The trim is still not painted, but that will happen soon.

As grams used to say: "Snow is poor man's fertilizer." She was known to shovel it into the garden soil, if the ground wasn't frozen yet.:) Talk about thrifty swamp Yankees. ;)

Unless you live in Connecticut and the leaves are still on the trees. ;(

Holy ____! I don’t want to be around when those power lines snap!

Snow is sticking on the grass and oncarsin West Bend and in Grafton. 10 miles further south in Mequon it is not stiking — yet. emps are forecast to be 27 deg. tonight (with precip continuing) and a high of 35 deg. tomorrow. :(

And they did....the trees and limbs took down lines and closed roads....it’s been 11 days and our street is finally passable ...they just hooked up the lines on my house to the pole tonight. It’s been a debacle.

Our “snow” isn’t really snow, yet. It’s been melting on contact. It’s just a tease right now, but it’s coming, coming...

Glad you finally got your power back. We were out 2 hours last week, and I wanted to climb the walls. We are really dependant on those wires, aren’t we?

It’s inevitable..like death and taxes....snow in winter. Last year we had record snow fall....it was incredible.

I love snow.

I am surprised this AM to find that it is still snowing. Now it's sticking which means that I am going to have a hard time pulling the weeds that didn't get cleaned up already. That was definitely NOT forecast. Mea culpa. Mea maxima culpa!

You have a diverse and productive garden for this time of the year and I think I even saw watermelon vines? Can you grow corn also?

I have a freezer full of corn on the cob from last season. This is our growing season, We planted on Sept 15th.. We grow a lot of watermellon in the fall down here... Most of it gets shipped up north.. I eat all mine and share it. I was standing out there last season with my friend from Next door eating watermellon right out of the garden. WOW were they good on a hot day.
